Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Done! I'd even be willing to give them our 3rd round pick to help it go through.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm not too upset about that at all. Let's hope we get to keep horse.

I don't understand why St.Kilda haven't chased the likes of Malcolm Blight or Tim Watson......

Mick McGuane - who also left - is someone I've heard strong raps about too, especially from a match-day tactics perspective, not really the strong point of our current panel.

C'mon Horse, look on the bright side. There's a lovely senior coaching job in a beautiful sunny city in 2010, with your name on it. You might have even met one or two of the fellas you'll be coaching.

PS Suspect that St Kilda got it wrong, but only time will tell: a lot of people thought Sydney got it wrong with their coach selection in 2002.

By the sound of it, at the end of the year, we would have lost 2 coaches already.
Jonas is heading back to Adelaide and it seems either Lyon or Longmire will get the job at St Kilda.

Roosy won't be a Sheedy and hanging around for twenty years. He'll do his time and move on. That's the way he is.

But agree with the sentiment, I think we need to do some succession planning for that event now. And if he is good enough (I'm no coach - Well not until I've had 6 beers), well lets get him comitted now!! Let him know that he will be Roos replacement!

That's all very well but there must be a very good chance that Horse will accept a senior coaching berth before then. You can't really prepare for a coaching succession plan 3 years in advance.

Horse won't stick around until 2010. I'm sure he'll be at the Swans next year but my money would be on him getting a senior role in 2008.

If I were a betting man I would say the Kangaroos or Carlton.
