Condition of termination of employment with the Swans?

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

These were a couple I was thinking of.

I didn't say it was the cause - it just contributed and when you lose by 1 point, better match-day coaching (amongst other things) may have made the difference.

Our game plan works very well when executed properly. Our match day tactics have rarely been great.

So if Lyon who would be aware of all the research Sydney have done on Everitt, openly rejects him, who the hell at the Swans is pushing for him ?

Good luck to Ross but bad luck to Roosy. It is no secret that match days moves have been done by the assistants and they will not be there next year. How often do you see Roosy on the phone?Hopefully Horse will still be there and we can get someone in the mould of Cressa to step in.

I would think if the players were a bit more switched on in the first half we wouldn't have been as far behind and would have had a good shot at running over them.

Not sure tactics had a lot to do with Amon's fumble or the skill errors - that was not being awake and excellent pressure from the Eagles.

Lyon would not have played any role in recruiting (or indeed anything else at the club) from the time he was approached by the Saints.

Exactly. Does anyone think Roosey sent the runner out to Baz when he was lining up for goal with a message that we need to keep a decent margin behind them on the scoreboard so that the final quarter is especially thrilling?

Or a suggestion to Tadhg that Cousins might start sulking if he didn't get more of the ball so he should give him an easy chance to kick a goal?

Really. Longmire too I guess. And Jonas.

Are you saying no assistant coaches looked at recruiting back before the other clubs sought them out. ?

We didnt decided to go after Everitt just last week you know.

Of course all these things are true, but they don't preclude another reason as well, which is lack of match day tactics.

If the game plan is working well then that's great. When it's not the Swans (players and coaches) really struggle to come up with an alternative.

How long have Lyon and Longmire been assistants?

IIRC Longmire has been an assistant longer, so his CV/pitch obviously needs a bit of work to impress the powers that be.

He's been with Sydney longer but Lyon has a longer and more varied track record as an assistant coach. Sydney is the fourth club he's been involved with (as a coach) and he started in his late twenties, after being forced to retire as a player quite early through injury.

Longmire also retired as a player quite early but he is a fair bit younger than Lyon. I think he's still only about 35.
