But that is the point, it is not a rep game of AFL, its a mish mash to try and get a rep game of anything.

Good for you if you like it, and can take it seriously.

Let those who dont have an opinion though.

Good for the players that get a trip out if it.

I watched it because I was at someones place and they had it on. It's ok to watch, but like state games, I don't feel the same passion as for the club I support.

I don't mind it, but I'm not upset if I miss it either.

        Of course it's not AFL.
        It's called 'International Rules'.

It's a whole different game on its own.
Just because the rules of the game is a hybrid of 2 games doesn't make it inferior or not worthy of being labelled a 'sport' as such.

It's merely another brand of football IMO, it'll have its fans and it'll have those people who feel indefferent about it, just like any other brands of footy.

oh ps: I think Ryno got man of match?
I don't know if this is official or just the Irish giving credit where due.

This dominance was duly rewarded when Man-of-the-Match Ryan O'Keefe coolly netted for the Aussies after some neat interplay

Its substantial evidence that IR is less dangerous than "normal" offseason non-footy life.
I'm not begrudging your choice to watch it. I have no issue with people who enjoy it for what it is. I don't get why people watch a half-assed sport just for the sake of watching some sport. I'm just stating that I don't find it much of a game. As for watching it because there are Swans in it, I don't give a toss what Swans players do outside normal games.

And I don't understand why people who aren't into it are "flogging their log" or "need their head examined".
I think the problem is that people who dont like it always seem to infest threads about it. If you dont like it, dont watch it, and dont post about it. Its a really weird human condition that you have to bag something you have no interest in. I guess it shows the people who have a glass half empty look at life.

I'm not saying you should like it, just wondering why we get so many "silly sport" posts, when I'd rather be talking about the game, the players, what happened.

The Irish want to challenge you with their national potato stew making team.

I heard they want to have a hybrid bake off with Potato stew with lamington dumplings.

See this is the problem with the concept.

i am just not used to handling suet, and will no doubt fumble the dumplings to the floor. Similarly, the Irish have no idea how to handle coconut flakes, or the physical nature of lamington cutting.

It just does not work !

Also having 2 out of my 4 favourite players there with Tadhg and Nicky made it even more enjoyable.
The swans did much of the scoring too.

                    ROK 1.3
                    BBBH 0.2
                    Davis (tried to savis) 0.2

I think only 0.2 was scored for the aussies from non swans.

                    Tadgh 0.1 for the baddies.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

But if it's in Ireland at least you get a free trip.

I'm all for free speech. But free noise I can do without. I think its everyones duty to get up to speed with the issue before forming an opinion and expressing it.

Do the people against IR want it stopped or just want to hear themselves talk ?

Whilst there is nothing i like more than hearing myself talk or type.

The thread is actually a poll on whether you like IR games and think they are worthwhile. Does that not lend itself to a discussion from both points of veiw ?

Seems pointless to ask if that is not the case.

Agreed.... wanted to throw something at the TV everytime that @@@@head Quartermain kept saying how "important" he was or "has been good all night"....

Kiss my ass he was good... he was rubbish. Turned the ball over nearly every time it went near him....
