Can also go forward. So not a bad pick up at the end.

So all in all, 1 midfielder, 1 ruckman and 2 talls. Pretty much what we all expected we would go (just not in the order we would pick them in)

"Big boy" is an understatement. He was a quiet fancy for last year's draft, and, for a teenager, he had a very powerful build even then.

Final word - I am extremely happy with our results, considering what was obviously gone before we got a look in.
            Welcome aboard boys.

White - big, powerful and mobile - Barry Hall type perhaps to be moulded as a strong key forward?

Looks like we've done OK. There's no doubt some players were taken from us right before our picks.

Which of the 4 are likely to be ready to play straight away?

Burgatron had Daniel O'Keefe tagged as a second round pick (37), we took him with our first pick. None of Currie, Faulks or White figure prominently in pre-draft discussions.

Yet again, Sydney drafts smokies and unknowns when more fancied names were on the table. Again we have drafted a small / midfielder type with our first choice (in a draft laden with tall talent, an area where we are deficient.

We'll find out in about 4-5 years whether this strategy was brilliance or stupidity.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

White, you would think considering he has played carnival football for the past two years, is over the 100kg mark and is able to play either end of the ground as a KP and as we know if we hit injuries in that area we only had Vogels and Grundy as backup before today. That and can also play in the ruck.

Also don't rule out O'Keefe if he really hits it off early in the year. Currie is also a chance if injuries hit the rucks. But I doubt Faulkes will play until he really bulks up. 74kg for a KP defender isn't enough to play in year one.

This is the Swans we're talking about!!

We won't see any of them this season, nor probably next season.

But do take note that Burgatron did say in his profile that the Swans were looking at taking him at pick 15, so really it wasn't that much of a surprise.

                              From MATT BURGAN'S PHANTOM DRAFT:
The draft is varied. Opinions differ considerably on certain players and although the depth appears to be strong, there is very much a 'beauty in the eye of the beholder' scenario among many of these players. In many respects, O'Keefe fits this mould. Highly-rated by many AFL recruiters - some believe he could be a first-round draftee - he is also seen as a third-round selection. It would not surprise if Sydney (No.15), Hawthorn (No.24 or No.33) or Geelong (No.25) snapped him up, yet in this meeting, the top 40 stacks up strongly and not everyone can fill the same position. O'Keefe could genuinely slot in anywhere in the first three rounds and the Kangaroos will be delighted if they can jag him in this section of the draft, which is not out of the realms of possibility.
