Spider is number 1. Jolly or Doyle? If the donk gets himself fit I'll enjoy watching Jolly call home from Manuka between qtrs.
Number 2 ruckman

How sure are you that he will be #1 Ruckman?
I would've thought that Jolly and Spida would share the duties fairly equally, depending on opponents, while Doyle would be the back up ruckman/forward.
I guess it all depends on how fit Doyle is, and how fit he stays.
Ditto for the other 2. -
Spida in 1st ruck will depend a lot on how the midfield is coping with one of the best tap ruckmen in the game. It will probably require a different setup. If the midfield don't grasp it, Jolly will stay first until they do (was Ball a tap ruckman, is Jolly?).
IMO Spida around the ground, whether back or forward, is a much more exciting prospect. All three of them are quite capable in most areas of the ground - I can hardly wait to see all three in the team - Height and ability where we need it - and Roos will rotate them according to the needs at the time.Comment

I would like to see Jolly and Doyle sharing the bulk of the centre ruck work, with Spida on the ground in the in the forward 50 for most of the time. This would free up Baz as both a forward ruckman and as a target up forward. You won't see 3 opponents on baz in a marking contest if there is another tall marking forward option up front.
However, in some games eg the Illegals, it would be wise to have Spida in the centre to cut big Cox down to size.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

Sorry I meant free up Baz from doing the forward ruck work and provide another target up forward that would draw defenders away from Baz.

Sydney are (realistically) only expecting one of those 3 to be around and still doin' the do in 2010: and it's Jolly. (I hope I'm wrong, but it would be a bloody brave person who would bet on the Donk's body lasting that long.) They're not about to start demoting him now.Comment

I think it amusing how little respect Spider has !
IMHO he will play pretty much 4/5 game either in F50 or ruck, jolly will do grunt centre work, doyle will share this and go forward. Neither Doyle nor jolly have half the motor Spider has, even at his age.
The guy is class, always has been, give him some credit.
His outside footy life is not relevant.Comment

remember spida can play forwards sideways and i have seen him go down back when they could not get the ball out and get it himselfComment

Unless he's getting absolutely smashed by an opposing ruck man, Jolly will remain the #1 Ruck man....
Spida and Doyle will be used up forward and to relieve Jolly as required.
At any one time, and if they're all playing, I suspect that Doyle will start from bench and Jolly and Spida on the ground. Spida fwd and them rotating.
The bonus of having another tall marking fwd in either Spida or Doyle will be far to big a temptation for us not to use them in this way. As has been stated before, if we get a tall marking option fwd, BBBH will be down to single opponent... Here comes the Coleman!Comment
