    Bevan wants no regrets

    Link

    This will warm Nicos' heart!

Bevan met with the coaches to review the season and while understanding his frustration they wrote down several specific things he needed to work on for 2007 - and he understands its importance and remains focused on what he must do.

"I am coming into my fifth season so I need to make a move on the things they have pointed out with the trial games," the 22-year-old said.

"I was dropped more for match-ups than form and the players who were in front of me were healthy," Bevan told sydneyswans.com.au.
    Yeah right.....

You were dropped because you couldn't catch, kick or handpass and at the time, you couldn't have caught a cold if you had wanted to. On top of that, you were probably the biggest turn over merchant we had running around.

I do like Bevan, but all last year, even when he was good he was ordinary. And when he was bad, he was really @@@@....

Here's hoping he can turn it around.

A little harsh rp but to suggest his form was good is stretching it.

Bevan is the only real Sydney junior playing seniors the Swans have, it's really important that he comes on.

Certainly looking at the tone of this article he's got to realise his spot is a long long way from being automatic and he's form gotta be a lot better than what we saw last year.

And I think it's important to learn not to kick the ball into your team mate.

I agree. He's an important player in the context of Sydney and AFL. However, he was crap last year.

I think in 05 he probably snuck under the radar a little. But when the opposing time teams worked him out, he was a lamb to the slaughter - see GF 05.

Notwithstanding, he did show glimpses of his potential. I see him being groomed as our hard and fast defender. At the moment, he simply isn't hard enough or fast enough. Hopefully he will get the oppurtunity to turn that around.

          The new Crouch.

Not being able to hit a target has never stopped him being a valuable player.
Bevan just needs to learn to kick more choppers.

He's been told he needs to pull his socks up.
He knows it now ... hopefully he takes the advice on board and uses it to his (our) advantage.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Just wondering what you mean by "only real Sydney junior"?

Other players on the Senior list that have a Sydney background are:

                Nick Davis - St George
                Jarrad McVeigh - Pennant Hills
                Lewis Roberts-Thompson - Noth Shore.

Also on the rooke list are:

                Kieran Jack - Pennant Hills
                Earl Shore - Campbelltown.

McVeigh is from the Central Coast although he did play a lot of juniors at..... Penno I think.
Completely forgot about the other two, I've clearly got no idea!!!!

You can count the central coast as the "upper outer suburbs" of sydney.

You can't doubt Bevo's commitment or effort.

It's his poor skills and decision-making when under pressure that sometimes brings his game undone. And there are plenty of Swans in the top 22 who suffered the same problem at a similar age and level of experience.

I'm expecting Bevo to rise to the challenge.

As has been pointed out that is not correct but even if it was, why should a position on the list for a Sydney junior be treated as some sort of charity concession. Roos pointed this out at the last draft - if they are good enough they'll be drafted and if not then a better youngster will take their place.
IMO Bevan will never be a consistent senior player and is probably on very thin ice next delisting time.

The best Sydney junior in recent years wasn't picked up by the Swans - Lenny Hayes.

If he gets back to his 04 debut season form then he's definately in my best 22.

I reckon he's up for a big year.
