        Goodes is on the bench.

A scrappy start by the Swans, very few clean possessions so far.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

It looks like we haven't done much ballwork in pre-season training so far - ball handling is average and kicking skills have been very poor so far.

Good mark to ROK and good pass to White who kicks to the square, Kirk snaffles the crumbs and goals.

Dogs 8 Swans 6 (and Goodes on the field).

Richards gets a free for holding, hits the post with the shot which rebounds into play, Dogs move it quickly up the ground resulting in a good snap for goal.

Another free to Teddy for holding - right in front after some good link work from ROK. And he kicks the goal.

Looks like there's a bit of a breeze the Swans are kicking into which might explain so many passes dropping short for the Swans.

Teddy goals. He may really benefit from these new rules as he holds his ground extremely well.

Crowd looks a reasonable size for a game that Sydney has little interest in winning on a hot Canberra summers day. It's weird coming home from the beach to watch the Swans on TV with the fan blowing on me.

Some very basic errors thus far in a scrappy game. Hopefully we can show a bit more with the wind.
