    Funny hey

When Roos wants to understate and underestimate something, he resorts to drivel and cliches and bland bulldust.

When he wants to shift attention from his own coaching errors and leave a player stranded, he can produce blunt straight talk.

Not that he's a hypocritical, self-obsessed showpony or anything.

      exactly.
why single out goodsey ... they ALL played like crap.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Here's what he could have justifiably said:

"Adam didn't have a great night. He started on Judd but that didn't work and I wasn't happy with his game through the centre.

"It might have been better to release him to a wing or flank so he could shake the tight tag, find some space and ball, use his creativity and then work back into the game.

"He would have then had the confidence to get back into the action and challenge himself to lift beyond his first quarter workrate."

But no - Roos prefers the cheap shot.

I think in fairness, when any coach singles out a player they are just trying to fire them up for the next game. You wait goodesy will star next week.

Yeah sure - a player who has won two brownlows, is endlessly professional, a model of respect for himself and the game, hasn't missed a game in years and one of our best players needs a juvenile piece of psychology from the coach to serve as motivation.

Roos ain't that stupid. He's just self-serving at times.

Hang on a minute. The last time I recall Roos getting into a player was last year, with the player in question, Nick Davis. The reason Nick copped his wrath was because he stepped outside the "Bloods ethos".

Now maybe, just maybe, is there a rough chance that Goodesy may have stepped outside the circle in some way that may be impinging on his form. Football is his livelihood and he gets paid handsomely to ply his trade. Roos's job in part is to ensure his players prepare themselves in the correct manner for a game, so if a player is not in the right nick to run onto the ground he is entitled to bring him into line.

We have got to the GF twice in a row largely due to our iron clad discipline, dedication, desire and team attitude. It is inevitable that at some stage that ethos will be tested. Not right now though please Goodsey. Get back into that circle today thanks Goodesy.

By the way how long has he had the current lady hanging off his arm. Hope that's not the big distraction. Look what it did to Lleyton.

I sort of agree with the rest of your post so have not copied it, but in regard to the Nick thing, Roos only spoke out against him after Nick had against Roos. This really is abreak from the norm.

The 'ethos' is it's all about being "brothers" and we don't speak out against them, it's handled in house. I too was shocked about him speaking out - unless he (Goodes) went against the game plan - but then still using the ethos - you don't shame your brother publicly.

The very fact that he did name him, makes me feel there is a hint of something that may not have been quite right.

                            Yep.
So does Roos. Would that explain that strange behaviour in the box on Saturday night? Vaccuous smile, fading to wierd grimace, back to vaccuous grimace, hiding in the back of the box? Or did he fart?

Seriously Roos - come out and say what's on your mind. Stop teasing the fans with the innuendo - you know how upset we get!

Did I write a post that got deleted? For suggesting Roos might be pushing Goodes to greater heights?
