    SCG Any Different?

I didn't manage to get to the game today, but for those who did, can you comment on the state of the SCG...Has the redevelopment in progress caused any problems with the game from a spectator's view?

The scoreboard in the Churchill is a total waste of space.

I've got a bigger plasma sitting on the living room wall. What were they thinking?

Of course it looks shabby with the construction site, but I like where they have relocated the scoreboard. Much easier to see from the Ladies' Stand. It was such a beautiful day, it's hard to complain really.

Agree about the (smaller) scoreboard in the Churchill.

My only gripe is that I'm used to being able to see the big scoreboard and screen from my seat in the O'Reilly. They've erected a smaller one on the Churchill (or is it the Brewongle - never know which is which) but it is a lot harder to see the score and there doesn't seem to be a clock on it. The big one is now invisible from my seat.

But I guess you have to put up with minor inconveniences at times, and it's not that big a deal.

No problems with the viewing from bay 25, the new scoreboards look great and finally two video screens
Can see why the wall of advertising is only on the one side, the goals have been realigned so now a slightly lopsided look to the ground.

I liked the new scoreboard between the Noble and O'Rielly stands, it was great. (Mind you old habits die hard, despite it being right in front of me sitting in the upper deck of the Brewongle, I still looked to the right for the old scoreboard lol)

I did notice the general atmosphere was a bit average in the first three quarters and I put it down to the massive hole at the Randwick end, but it did pick up in a major way when the game was up for grabs in the last quarter.

There seemed to be a lot of room on the hill.

Which explains some of our shoddy kicking for goal

An optical illusion I'm sure. I don't think the goals have moved at all.

I've never been the biggest SCG fan around but I was extremely surprised and rapt to see how good things were today. That new scoreboard between the Bradman & O'Reilly stands was fantastic. I could actually follow what what happening without craning my neck all the time. I'm sure those on the other side of the ground enjoyed the one in the Churchill as well.

The thing I was pleased the most about though was how the atmosphere was where we were. Peter & our lot could hear each other when we got our chants going, so for the first time there was some sort of co-ordination between the whole Brewongle/Churchill. With a great and people around & behind us the chants not only echoed. But others got quite vocal & joined in, especialy during the 4th quarter.

I was dreading what things would be like at the SCG this season. I was extremely surprised by how good it all was, especially as they appear to have moved the goalposts around a couple of metres & appeared more adroit with the netting pre-match.
