Yeah, you're right. I guess we'll never know...

Well you see, I have this theory. If I was Adam Selwood and I had just been belted, threatened with death and then accused of saying things I didn't say, I would be straight into a media conference declaring my innocence and branding him a madman and a liar. But he didn't....funny about that.

Yeah, he must be guilty because he plays for WC...

Was he found innocent or not guilty, there being not enough evidence to find him guilty?

Not guilty, due to lack of proof.

Yes, but on RWO it means you're guilty, unless it's a Swans player...

                What staggering hypocrisy!

So what are you saying exactly?

Did he not say what was alleged?

If not, are you saying Headland is a madman and a liar?

There may not have been enough proof for a guilty finding, but there would be very few people outside west coast supporters who do not believe Selwood said something close to the reported quote. The trouble with a not guilty finding is the AFL look weak, West Coast players really will feel there is nothing they can't get away with and the code has been tarnished yet again by west coast. Proof in this case really doesn't have alot to do with result

Maybe he should just contribute to a payment to Headland - that seems to make some people here think you are innocent...

Good decision by the tribunal. It justifies the moronic mentality of some people who think it is OK to stoop to that level of indecency. It also sends good vibes to those who have defended Selwood's alleged comments and take comfort in that decision.

Not all of us Bloods. If a Swans player was guilty of something like this I would not want that player representing our club. Selwood was found not guilty by a fair process so thats good enough for me.

I understand the point you're making in regards to double standards, but probably best to leave the link between two very different allegations alone.

From a wider 'football perspective' I'm glad the result went the way it did. It should now be left well alone, and hopefully the sport / media can move on.

Of course, if he did say it, it's disappointing. But as in many aspects of life, when it comes done to 2 differing versions of an event with no witnesses, proof is extraordinarily difficult.

That won't happen, too much bad blood between the sides. Eagles fans will probably think Selwood is weak considering they were all sticking by his side of the story...
