Isn't it funny. When we lose Bazza gets a bagging. Almost every time we lose you can point the finger at the poor disposal into the forward line. There is not a top forward ever to exist in the game that hasn't had at least a few off game in a season. Better to point the finger at the disposal skills of our midfield.

Also shows, for all the crap about the best forward line in the league, that we are pretty light on for scoring options. Pinga O'Keefe has to go up to the defensive 50 to get it, MOL will give you one or two but never a bag,. and we do not have a goal kicking midfielder or small forward to speak of. At the moment it is no Hall, no Swans. As you have said Nico, without Davis we are swinging in the breeze.Isn't it funny. When we lose Bazza gets a bagging. Get Davis back in pronto.
What gets me is we dont have a strategy of these poor converters handballing off from a set position to someone like Ablett and Davis who at least have a chance of getting the distance.Comment

hard when your taking on 6 blokes at a time. where were the two or threee players that should have been loose everytime we went forward. too much barry watching from the free guys i thinkwww.fuselive.com.auComment

Plan B was for Buchanan, McVeigh, Spida, ROK, MOL to mark in the F50 and kick the goals - shame they couldn't execute!Comment

As I said in the other threat, I still worry about his eyesite. He really struggles at night a lot of the time to take overhead mark. It is as if he cannot see the ball clearly into his hands.I think masey may be right. Hall has trouble taking contested overhead marks, however his best work comes from strong hard leads. He was clearly unable to do that tonight, giving Rutten plenty of time to catch up and spoil. Still, that doesn't explain why they keep kicking it to him. If the crows are double and triple teaming him, that means WE have free men elsewhere!!!
Furthermore he only makes the situation worse by starting to get angry, with not only has opposition players needle him more but leads to further brain explosions & possible 50 metre penalties (or maybe even more).
I think Roos badly badly erred in not playing him on the ball during the 2nd half tonight. He was pathetic as a forward & badly needed a feel for the footy. As a forward with just a contagious case of the fumbles he only helped have the game play into the Crows' hands.

I reckon the fact that he barely strayed from the 50m arc is a sign that his knee is far from 100%. Normally when he's struggling to get into things he leads up the ground hard and provides a linking option moving the ball forward. He did none of that yesterday.
So I very much doubt he was capable of playing on the ball.Comment

Agree, from ground level at the game it was very noticable that he didn't get on his bike and move much from the forward 50.I reckon the fact that he barely strayed from the 50m arc is a sign that his knee is far from 100%. We also kicked to him on a number of occasions when he was clearly playing the decoy in order to creat space back through the corridor.
At one stage Hall dummy lead to the pocket, came back and then went again, only to turn around and blast Malceski for not moving into the space behind to provide the option.
We clearly had some plans to counter act the way the Crows set up defensively but with our poor disposal were not able to execute these.

Interesting points DST. Are the players too drilled to be flexible, or is there just a lack of communication in the forward line. Much has been written about Kirk's marshalling role around stoppages. Perhaps there needs to be more talk in and around the forward line (not that there is the same amount of time as around a stoppage) or better communication from the runners?Agree, from ground level at the game it was very noticable that he didn't get on his bike and move much from the forward 50.

This could very well be true Liz. But with the way the Swans conceil things like this. And with the Sydney media not asking questions, I guess we'll never know the truth,. will we?I reckon the fact that he barely strayed from the 50m arc is a sign that his knee is far from 100%.
