I think the whole team needs some stitches/bandages in the warmup to avoid these slow starts.

Maybe try him as purely an attacking option and don't give him a man to be accountable for and see how he goes. At the moment his defensive work is lamentable.
As a tagger he is not fast enough. Some get past that with strength. He lacks in that area too. The only thing I can see for him is developing like Fosdike, but I am not convinced he has the 'footy brain' or composure to do it. Look at him vs Malceski. There is no question now that Malceski is part of our best 18.

Volunteers? Maybe Jude should start wearing his headgear.

According to the AFL site, the best Sydney Swans were: Fosdike, Barry, Kirk,Jack, Hall, Goodes. Tendency for innacuracies in this list aside, our Kieran deserves his spot in my view after a great performance. About the only positive to come out of tonight - oh and that #4 played OK AGAIN and kicked 2 key goals. Spida too I thought had an excellent game - a few important grabs, two which led to goals I think. These first quarter sleeps are a real concern though.
Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.

To come in next week will be:
            Doyle and Buchanon.

            Out:
            McVeigh and Moore.

We'll go in top heavy to try to expose St Kilda's back line.

If you ask me (I was at the game) Davis looked a little slow at times tonight - maybe a leg injury?

Not a good effort by the Swans but I guarantee we win next week - no first quarter sleep in I don't think.

VERY good call - bouncing was hopeless tonight.

Jack was good Swanette - he reads the play suprisingly well and has good pace but I dont think I'd put him in the best. I actually think he was stunned in the first 20 minutes he was on by the pace and intensity - but he did adapt - good sign.

MOL took a screamer in the last minutes - Rules committee might stuff this game up eventually.

Malceski got beaten tonight but I'll keep the faith. Spida was OK.

Why didn't Craig Bolton - our best defender - play on Shannon Grant - their most dangerous forward? particularly in the last quarter when Grant was always going to be more dangerous than Edwards.

Even the umps were disappointed in some of their bounces.

Height. They had quite a bit of height down forward and we were undersized as it was. It took Roos 3 quarters to move Ted Richards, that was probably one of the most disappointing parts of the night. It did take Roos a while to react to some aspects of the game.

Goodes played a lot better in the last quarter as a defender/CHB. We are getting killed at the moment due to LRT being out. (Dempster and Kennelly are both 190+ too). We may need Goodes down there, and at the moment it does not seem like a bad option considering he cannot get the ball.

If we're that stretched for height, Vogels should have played ahead of Moore.

Tonight I'd have stuck with Richards on Edwards to allow Bolton to go to Grant.

I am almost certain Richards was on Edwards for the first 3 quarters.

Agreed Vogels should have played instead of Moore.
