How many frees did James Hird get? We only had to touch the bloke and he was given a free.

    Pathetic.

Amon's last kick "looked" like a goal from where I was sitting. Did it hit the padding?

Also, what chance of the point at end of Q3 being reversed? Surely it's a dead ball after the siren?

It's only dead if the attcking players touch it.

There would be more hope of having the out of bounds goal reversed than the point.

Yes got the padding towards the top, a couple less inches on the padding and would be whole different scenario.

If I were Barry Hall I think I might decide to retire after tonight and take up netball instead. I know he often gets the extremely raw end of the stick. (And often blows up when he legitimately gives away frees.) But tonight took things to a whole new level.

If he, alone amongst all players, is not allowed to make even a smidgeon of contact to an opponent he might as well take up a sport where it is non-contact for everyone.

My whole enjoyment of that game was ruined by the most appallingly over-umpired and incorrectly umpired game I think I've ever seen. I know the football both teams dished up was rubbish too but I almost can't focus on that for the appallingness, dreadfulness, woefulness of the maggots' performance.

I did mention tonight that one day he is simply going to snap, and punch an umpire into next month. He is continually shafted.

The over-officiating (not just of Hall, but the whole game, although he is affected more than just about anyone) is ruining the game (and ruining Hall's game).

i feel so dirty. i've been raped and pillaged ... imagine how the players must feel.
that has got to be the dodgiest umpiring i've ever seen.
in 20 years of going to the footy, i've never seen the maggots escorted off by security guards like they were tonight.
i'm glad i was there to boo lloyd's speech ... i hope it sounded good on tv.

By all mean boo the umps, players during a game etc but Booing a player (regardless of who they are), during a presentation is pretty poor form IMHO.

i'm sorry. were you watching the same game i just came home from?
                            we were robbed.
the umpiring was the worst i've seen for two decades.
if roosey says something about it, he'll be fined. we have no recourse.
if we lost because we played really badly (we didn't actually play that good tonight) it wouldn't be so bad.
we lost because of dodgy umpiring decisions. nothing more, nothing less.
i'm so freaking angry, i just want to punch something. it would so be worth another three months in traction.

Fair enough. I'd actually looked away to yell at Scotty Lucas & then was surprised they were awarding a point when I looked again. Dumb stuff.
