Annie, you are up against football purists here. We did everything wrong and the crowd have no right to have passion.

pigs arse we have no right to have passion!!!
they say the sydney crowd are quiet ... not tonight.
we know the umpires were playing for the dons.
i've never seen the sydney crowd so angry. it's almost refreshing to see that much passion.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

the umpiring was the worst i've seen for two decades.
if roosey says something about it, he'll be fined. we have no recourse.
if we lost because we played really badly (we didn't actually play that good tonight) it wouldn't be so bad.
we lost because of dodgy umpiring decisions. nothing more, nothing less.
i'm so freaking angry, i just want to punch something. it would so be worth another three months in traction.
And what does any of that have to do with the captain of the opposition?

Actually this raises a good point for me - you know how players can get fined for giving a finger to the crowd? Which McVeigh or McPhee one of them did it tonight. What about coaches? Because Sheedy did it twice in the speeches section - once right to our lovely section of the crowd.

            Regarding this thread:

Free Kick Count in the end:

            Swans 18
            Bombers 22

There were at least 4 goals for the Bombers that came from free kicks and 1 that I counted. That was from what I remember at being at the ground.

i hate lloyd just about as much as i hate the west coast criminals and eddie/maltmouth/the whole of bloody collingwood in general. lloyds a smug little actress. sheedy is a great acting coach. maybe nicole kidman can take lessons from him. how many dives were made tonight that got paid? i counted three.

I am embarrassed by the booing. Doesn't make us look like great sports, even if it was mostly caused by frustration.

I left immediately after the game ended so wasn't part of it - though admittedly I normally force myself to stay for those presentations, even when we lose.

                      you just don't get it.

the booing was telling the afl world that we weren't happy with the umpiring. we have absolutely no other recourse to verbalise our displeasure.

the swans played like pure @@@@ in the first half and in all honesty, deserved the loss.

the umpiring was REALLY FREAKING BAD TONIGHT. worse than i've EVER, EVER seen the game umpired. even worse than bloody siren-gate last year.

once lloyd had finished speaking ... the swans were cheered. what more do they want ... standing ovations for the loss?? not today sweetheart.

The way the booing sounded to the TV audience was that it was directed at Hird during his speech, not the umpires.
Why cheer them if they played so badly, the first half performance wasn't that different to the second half.

                                Rant Begins

Can't remember a time when I have been so angry after a game of football. I can accept the Swans were terrible for a majority of the night but the inconsistencies of the umpires were unbelievable.

The treatment of Hall was nothing short of bloody pathetic. Balance that with the many soft frees given to Hird and you can understand the anger from Swans fans.

I hope thats the last time that boundary umpire has anything to do with a game of football. Where does the AFL get off by putting a myopic dope to run the boundary. For goodness sake they don't have a hard job.

The AFL have a massive problem. They constantly screw with the rules so game resembles a game of netball. Now they have officials who have problems interpreting all these changes. They also have a group of umpires who are incapable of treating 2 players the same. Hird gets frees that Hall can only dream about.

As for the Essendon fans leaving the ground near me. Go and get #@$@ ed. You aredisgrace to your club. Gloating about a dodgy victory proves that you are have the all grace of gutter rats.
