    Possitives................................

I had to work, so didn't watch it all, but listened on the radio.

I won't have to watch the tape of the game tomorrow.

Rocca will be rubbed out for a very high hit to Dempsters head. I hate that fat piece of lard, particularly when he hits someone high who is actually looking at the ball.

The only good thing tonight was the crowd. They tried their best to lift the side but the side would have none of it.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Teddy was pretty good, one of our best.

When THAT happens, you know you've got problems.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

ROK worked hard as usual - kicking at goal notwithstanding.
Schmidt did a few nice things, his kick to Spida on the run was very good.

Other than that, not much. Even the Eski had a pretty poor game (sorry swantastic)

                Yes!

Schmidt played a huge part in the last quarter. Start him in the centre.

                  1.We weren't flogged ala Geelong V Richmond.
                  2. We weren't playing Geelong tonight or it would have been a blow out.
                  3. Collingwood missed heaps of goals therefore it didn't blow out.
4.We couldn't possibly get any worse - surely?
5.We are not Richmond/Melbourne/St Kilda languising on the bottom of the ladder desperately needing a Grand Final appearance.
                  6. We won a Grand Final 2 years ago, lost one by a point last year so isn't this the natural order of things - win a GF and then go into decline for a couple of years.
                  7. There is always next week/next month/next year.

Yep, missed some and gave some soft ones but no more than usual.

As for Positives, Sydney scored more points in the fianl quarter than the previous 3.

yep although the umpiring wasnt that bad
the benchmark was the dons game

lets hope we can win in the cattery next week
                          that will be the test
that and west coast @ subi

but going on form, we'll lose by 20-40 in them both

I thought the umpires did their best to keep the Swans in the game. Couple of the 50m penalties we got were baffling. Plus I thought we got quite a few v soft frees for us and very few against us.

Shame we had to waste a favourable umpiring game on one where we were never remotely in the hunt.

                              funny you say that
because in '03 many pundits said we'd finsish last
ended up 4th and got belted by the lions juggernaut in the final term in prelim final '03 (tears)

so maybe this might be the usual cyclical downturn we had to have
i've always said the way we play we wont miss the 8 for many years (due to our defence).

i mean to lose by 19 is quite flattering i reckon
but the way our public is (apart from a solid 25-30 base most of the fans turn up when we're on song) we cant afford to miss the 8.

a 1st week home final at 6th position at worst is what the public demands of us.

Of the 2 that I can recall (stats said we had 3), the first was for Brodie Holland delaying the return of the ball when he was on the sidelines. The second was for Licuria driving some Swan into the back coming down from the mark when he was late into the contest. I think they were both there.
