the real problem is that bolton and mcveigh - our two very high draft picks cannot consistently hit a target and neither have clean hands. ben matthews is like a number of our other players - dempster being another and bevan being another - none of whom can actually get the ball and need to be led to it every time
Look, I agree with absolutely everything you are saying, but we can not replace all 5 players in one hit. 1 or 2 changes might make those other 4 or 5 players better players. It's a management thing.

Directed at the general public: I can not for the life of me see how people can think we can just replace 5 players with stars we just do not have. The changes that were made this week were adequate changes. Lets see how the team gels with these inclusions. Minor tweaking aside... (MCVeigh!)

NB to self: I have never been so frustrated with any team inclusion in all my life except for McVeigh. His selection is just so not warranted on form!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, generally. But I was thinking. Why not. There are 4 or 5 blokes giving us close to nothing anyway. The team has no real cohesion anyway. We are going backwards at the moment anyway. Let's see Moore and Brabazon in, and Kennelly and Hall, and get Schneider back, play him as a forward and fire him up.

Nobody said all four should be dropped - but it does require people to think about the style we play - if we seek to play a fast open style there are three to four players who should not be selected because they can't get the ball themselves. all they can do is try and stop their opponent getting it

mcveigh on the other hand can go and get the ball but can't do much with it. bolton used to be able to get the ball but has been lost this season

Said on the radio before the game that schneider had been suffering hamstring tightness for most of the season and it was decided to rest him so effectively he wasn't dropped

Then why name him as an emergency? It'll be interesting to see whether he plays in Canberra tomorrow (same with Moore).

Benny matthews just got 3 votes for worst on ground from danny Frawley
                  2 votes to o'keefe
                  1 to ling

I was dissapointed in some of davis's efforts from what i seen in the 2nd half just expects his teamates to beat 3 apponents and dish the ball out to him.I would like to now his hard ball gets for a season.........sometimes you need to get your hands dirty

He's not that sort of player. He reads the game well and often is there when it comes out. Bolton J gets his hands dirty, I know who is the better player...

Did you notice the time in the last qtr when he was running alongside O'Keefe in the forward 50, O'Keefe did not have control, Davis ran to where it should have been tapped on to, O'Keefe dragged it back in. Good tough play from O'Keefe, real dirty hands stuff. Maybe cost us a goal at the stage when things were close though...

spot on there i remember that. Davis sometimes struggles because he is in the right spot, as dumb as that sounds. I felt our forward line was a bit too cluttered for davis to have a genuine impact.

The time to drop Mathews was 4 years ago...about the same time they shouldn't of wasted draft pick 5 on you know who...both are pathetic...
and to think Benny insisted on having Pluggers number, what a tool !!

the number 4 was sacred from 95-99 then 2001 mathews takes it, it would have been ok if he was half the player plugger was, hopefully the nest time we see the number 4 it will be on different and better player. bye bye benny and mcveigh join him you make the number 3 look bad to.

Am watching the Richmond/St.Kilda game at the moment and the precise kicking is unbelievable. I know it is indoors but they are running flatout and still hitting people on the chest AND their forwards are taking contested marks. Gehrig even has a broken hand and still takes a great grab.

It is as if it is a completely different game to the on eI watch week in week out with my team that I will never stop supporting.
