The idiots really are those who are intolerant of others and make irrational statements about others who differ in opinion. In this case I was merely stating an observation of a non biased, non one eyed, non Swans supporter.

It is becoming ever increasingly apparently that one of our biggest problems at the moment, is talk on the field (or is it listening and awareness?).

I think it is a combination of those factors. Two players diving for the ball at once, two players going up in marking contests, players diving on the ball and not feeding it out to a loose man. This is all common with the theme that the players are not talking to one another enough.

If we sort that out, some of our close disposal work may well improve.

As for Ablett, well he can play well but it seems it is fairly rare. He has plenty of experience now. He seems to gain a lot of the ball in one quarter, or one half and then go missing. IIRC he had 8 touches in the first quarter, and finished with 14. Likewise J Bolton had 14 disposals at half time and finished with 21.

Perhaps I should be greatful they got less of the ball, and maybe that is why we improved in the second half.

In my opinion Davis could have quite easily taken one of the Geelong defenders out with decent body pressure and then made it a 2 on 2 contestt
This is exactly the sort of football that the Swans do a lot of that I don't like. They all launch themselves in at the ball and then when we're playing well we force a stoppage and when we're playing badly the opposition gets the ball out to a man who is now by himself outside the pack. We need to be smarter at contested situations.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

I watched the first quarter and then decided I'd rather make a start on my tax. I did have the t.v. on and the MMM commentary and took the occasional peek. I wasn't overly impressed by what I saw.
Not that it made any difference to the result but I was a little perplexed by the HTB decision against Malceski, how was he supposed to get rid of the ball when he was having his jumper pulled off?
We gave away some silly 50s, which was just dumb.

That either says a lot about the way we played or a lot about you Ange. I am not sure which.

Mainly the former but a bit of the latter too.

Umpire adjudged he had prior opportunity before the tackle was laid. If that's the case, it doesn't matter how impossible it is to dispose of the ball once tackled - in fact, a tackle like that becomes 'perfect'. He got done with another one later in the game where he had absolutely no chance to dispose.

At least he got caught trying to make something happen. You could accuse him of being over ambitious, possibly, but better to take a risk and try and create something rather than hospital handpass to a team mate with absolutely no chance of doing something. And he wasn't caught with the same absolute lack of awareness that Dempster and Ablett were.

There were two or three holding the ball decisions, though, that were absolutely ludicrous and showed the umpires had no clue about the game. Each side got at least one against them in the first half.

I'm pretty sure that Ryan knew Nick was there, he opted for taking the ball instead of trying to tap it on. Even the commentators at the time were saying something along the lines of "O'Keefe, needs to get it to Davis". It was discipline over flair.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I have added the smiley so that you can realise that some people don't have to take everything as seriously as you obviously want to.

Pot - kettle - black. You have just accused me of what you are doing.

FWIW your response here says more about you than my comment (before I added the smiley for your sake) says about me.
