Top 4 is gone, so the Swans will have to fight to stay in the eight.

Some observations on the game (as it's over now).

          - J Bolton is finished

          - let McVeigh have an opportunity to simply play as a midfielder and small forward - he seems more comfortable when he is not tagging

          - Ablett continues to disappoint in critical games

          - We need a better forward structure/strategy

          - We need to stop these flat spots (usually first qtr, but first and third tonight)

          - Why is so much of our game negative when we can be really effective when we attack?

          - Unless Goodes finds some consistent form, we will struggle to be a force in finals
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

We should have beaten them in round 1 when they were down on personnel. Would have to win every game from now on to even be in with a chance.

Top 4 is not completely gone. I am a bit happier that we only lost b 12 points. Surely Kenelly & Hall are worth more than 2 goals. Mostly I was annoyed at Grundy and the stupid commentators with the I love Cousins, Cousins is a hero remarks especialy dopey Tim Lane.

When we start wanting to win the ball instead of watching the man and creating ball-ups we actually starting kicking goals. Funny that!

Yes great commentary by 10 - "we love a drug user who has NEVER come clean and admitted his problem"

Sickening. I am not naive - I'm sure we have some players who have dabbled in drugs but this club was RIDDLED with them. I frankly think Ten need to examine what the hell they were doing.

Bevan SHOULD NEVER PLAY FOR THE SENIORS AGAIN.

Critical moment - Swans need a mark on the wing - Bevan tries to catch it with his mouth!!

For all the plaudits Kirk receives, does he ever do anything with the ball? He is the most over rated player in the AFL. He's a hard worker. He would not get a game at the Eagles. In terms of creative play, we have no midfield what so ever. I thought that West Coast were pretty ordinary tonight. At times we were woeful. At other times courageous, but with the exception of the odd piece of play, we never looked good.

Also, they are not that good - crap forward line and they rely on about 5 players.

We do too - Hall, Goodes, Kennelly, C Bolton and Kirk - only 2 of our 5 turned up.

40 possessions. That's why they rave about him. That was an amazing comeback from him, to be able to run out a game like that, to touch it 38 times and probably pick up Brownlow votes. What the @@@@ does the fact that he has a drug problem have to do with it?

                              But I agree about Bevo

                                It's all over

                                West Coast 16.16 112
                                Sydney 15.10 100

Swans played poorly through most of the match but clawed back to almost get over the line. The omissions of Hall and Kennelly were big losses up against a side that removed dead weight such as Armstrong, McKinley and MacKenzie and brought in Cousins, Kerr, Hansen, Staker and Stenglein. With Kennelly gone, Malceski spent little time in the midfield and had to spend a lot of time kicking from the backline. The forward line looked all out of sorts and our backline was under the pump from the first minute.

I could rant all I want about the commentators having orgasms about Cousins and what tripe the Sunday Times will be dishing out tomorrow morning but I'm not going to and the Eagles definitely deserved to win. They were better in the midfielder, were more convincing in the forward line and the weather I was expecting (boggy, pelting rain and thunderstorms) was completely absent and really helped the Eagles in their fast running game plan.

Next week, it's the Tigers at SCG. I hope this is a way to seek revenge and inflict real pain on such a crap team and I'm expecting a better performance than against Carlton last week i.e. 100 point mauling at least.
