i thought dempster had his best game ever, mcveigh kept the improve up, benny was more than ok. no need to go on abt the usual who give their all week in and week out. now the bad teddy 3 shockers in a row, ablett where was he, b1 the less said the better, bevan we have been saying it for how long now get him out of the side he costs 2-4 goals a game, blind freddie and all of us can see how bad he is when will roosy and the match comm see it as well. grundy gave nothing at the back staker had a party on him. then there were our usual to many clangers that gifted them a few goals as well as the few they were gifted by the maggots.

I've read some tripe on this board over the years but this beats them all. Take your childish comments elsewhere - the Swans are better off without people like you posting your consistent nonsense.

have to agree with that boroboy, i wish we had a few more like the captain we d be a champion side. need a few more players with heart and guts.
kirk is a champion player and a champion bloke. rok lobster would be good to post constructive posts as opposed to a lot of the rubbish you post on here. then again it is worth a laugh.

The one that must be straight back who should never have been out is Buchahan. At least he is prepared to run all game and get to a contest in contrast with JB who is a dead set bludger.

Like him or lump him, the Lobster gets people talking. One comment can get 20-30 replies just like that.

To be honest I partly agree with him this time. Kirk goes in hard and is courageous. But he often doesn't do much with the footy. He didn't have a big game last night ether.

The thing I found funny last night about Kirk's game was that Kerr was trying to ruffle HIM up at the stoppages. Not the other way around... I thought he did some OK things, but was a bit quiet on the night.

All over though.... if we had more Kirks in the side....we would be better for it.

He was quiet in the third quarter - hence the Eagles smashed us at every centre break. His work in the second and fourth quarters in the middle was a major reason why we managed to start getting ball into our forward line. I think I read somewhere that he had 9 clearances for the game, which is not too shabby. He was certainly our best midfielder by a long long way.

The problem is that no-one else was able to do the hard work in the middle when Kirk wasn't. With Monty having a party in Canberra, Jude and Ablett unable to do much at all in the middle, Goodes struggling to rid himself of a very effective Selwood tag, and Schmidt still not spending enough time in there, too much was left to one person up against the best midfield quartet in the game back together for the first time this year. It's pretty amazing we got within two goals really.

I think it is a fair comment on Kirk. He gets a lot of the footy but short of feeding out a handball from in close he isn't overly damaging with it normally.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I wonder how much that is giving many people (including the coach) a false impression of our performance. We've seen occasions in the past when top of the table teams start to decline in performance - they manage to get enough wins to just hang in there, but it's actually a fragile facade that suddenly comes crashing down under finals pressure.

He'd be a lot more effective in a side with better outside midfielders.

I know this is off the topic...but a friend saw the Swannies at the airport this morning, apparently all looking extremely dejected. To quote him "heads down, not much conversation etc"

Hopefully the loss inspires them to bigger and better things.

That sentiment has come up after nearly every game this year.

I completely agree, I think to realize his full potential he would also need to be on a team with better midfield coaching so that outside midfielders are positioned at stoppages in a way to be able to receive and place instead of just bang it on their boot. I watched the Collingwood vs. Essendon game yesterday, one thing that impressed me about the magpies midfield setup yesterday was that a clearance normally would then lead to well placed delivery as opposed to our hit and hope mentality, and I put a lot of that down to clever coaching.
