    Ray Hall in 2008

Ex NSW boy, and Richmond tall, Ray Hall is out of contract at the end of this year, and would be a fair chance to be delisted from the tigers.

He was an up and coming player a couple of years ago, but seems to have lost his way. With the success of Roden once he left the disfunctional Tigers, is it worth picking up Hall next year.

He would be a bit of a speculative pick, but might thrive in his "home" town.
He'd be cheap, and a good "depth" player. He'd tear up the ACTFL!

Doesn't this rumour go around every year?

Mind you, if Wallace lets him go, it's a sure sign that he's worth looking at!

We have to leavage every advantage we have at trade/draft time. If we dont then we will simply enter the cycle of boom/bust that lesser teams suffer.

        Our advantages are:
        - Go home factor for the limited number of ex-nsw players around. Davis is the classic example. Hayes, Greater McVeigh, R.Hall are all worth a shot.
        - Away from the spotlight. Worked for Plugger, Hall, Everitt. Maybe Fev ?
        - Flag chance. Worked for Everitt.
        - Sydney is the jewel of Australian cities. Helps recruit Irish or overseas players. Worked for Kennelly.

Anyone we can get for less than market value by those means should be snapped up and tried at least for a year.

A hack - and to think, he was the original choice of recruit for '05 before we turned to Jolly . . .

Yes it does and the same still applies - he is a hack.

Hall turns 27 in around three months (too old for Rookie drafting), not exactly many years left in him. The fact that he is a very average player would also suggest that we should leave this Richmond discard (Possible) alone.

                  - Davis is the only one who actually wanted to come home. Mark McVeigh and Hayes have publicly stated they are happy where they are.
                  - Plugger, Hall and Everiitt were all stars before they came to Sydney to find a new lifestyle.
                  - Ray Hall is not going to help deliver us a flag like Spider might help do. He'd be fighting for a spot with LRT, and we dont need two gumbies in the backlline!

But I do agree that if we can get him in the preseason draft or if Richmond want pick 85 for him, then lets try him for a year.

                    Great idea!

                    We'll have
                    B1 and B2
                    D1 and D2
                    OK1 and OK2
                    and then
                    H1 and H2.

If he cost nothing (pre season draft), and goes into the mix with LRT and Richards as our spare tall, I see it as a good thing.
Who knows, we might have given Hall a few games this year if we had him in LRT's absence.

The best thing of all would be if he changed his name to Jarryd Hall. Full house.

The problem is that it does cost something - a place on the senior list. Personally, I'd rather give an known unknown a go than a known hack. This is particularly the case given the number of reserves players knocking on the door. There was a time when I thought Ray Hall was worth a punt, but not now.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Never seen anything in Ray Hall. Has anyone else heard rumors about him not being that keen on football full-stop?
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.
