Actually that's not a bad list considering some of their efforts this year

Except for an incredibly stupid 50m penalty which gave Neitz a goal.

To me Bevan is servicable and that's all. He plays a good defensive game, particularly when he doesn't give away those frees that he sometimes tends to. He'll never be any better than what he is now, and if Crouch manages to get himself fit, I think Bevan may be left out of the side. He certainly wasn't our worst today, and deserves a spot above Brennan.

He played very well and kept Davey out of the game.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

It was stupid, but I think that for the amount of time he took to give up the ball Bevan was fine, it was just that he motioned for someone to pick up his man. He was walking to the mark and didn't take too much longer than most people did during the game.

Hve just read the last few pages and it is very negative...the radio call was not like that at all. They were full of praise for our skill level and a lot of the players who are being bagged were praised.

I will have to wait until I can watch on afl.com tomorrow.

The TV commentators were much the same - waxing lyrically about how good the Swans were. But really the Swans did nothing more than go through the motions, especially in the second half. Delivery forward was hapharzard at best, and there were numerous over-use turnovers in the middle and lazy defending at the back, especially late. Could - probably should - have won by 7 or 8 goals more than they did.

How on earth does J Bolton keep getting listed in the 'best' week after week?!?!

He's done that maybe two or three times in 20 matches! Hardly a good reason!

Some of them are bound to float through. I thought he was okay, perhaps his most important role was to drag McLean away from the middle. Strange non-reaction by Riley though.

Very strange decision indeed from Riley. Mclean is clearly their best on baller.

I've supported the Swans since 95 so i've seen Stafford, Ball, Doyle, Jolly and a few fillers as our ruckmen. But never have i been so appreciative of great ruckwork in which Spida has shown us this year. Some of his taps have been sublime.

Heaps of highlights, but as Liz said, to me it looked like it should have been a 100pt victory. We still have improvement and will need to lift against the Saints.

The umpiring was poor, of quite a low standard. They were paying them for soft rubbish, but dangerous hits, in the back and slings were being ignored. They were far too officious. The total Free Kick count was 29 Mlb, 17 Syd. 46 free kicks and I think 30 were boring soft things, yet they missed 10, ie 26 in total would have been more like it.

Monty, what a game! He just dominated from start to finish and Melbourne couldn't contain him.

I think tagging Bolton with anybody is a strange decision, full stop. You could let him run by himself all game and he would rarely hurt you with his disposal.

Funny enough, most clubs seem to tag him, probably because if you didn't, what would the opposition taggers do after they worry about Kirk? Goto McVeigh or Ablett?

They'd probably cramp up in the last quarter - from laughing.
