Wish we hadn't taken our foot off in that last quarter. That last Melbourne goal showed shocking defence by Grundy and Malceski (although the latter was trodden on by the former). Grundy is a bit of a worry, hopefully Leo is back next week.
whats clear from today is we need to get out cruise mode, st kilda is going to be whole diff proposition after richmond and melb. who knows when leo is back , hope its next week..because grundy i thought was not good at all and superted is also not so super anymore.bevan was okay again, but great game by amon.
So disapointed in our final quarter, it was one thing not to put our foot down, but to actually lose the quarter has me really worried about next week.
Im a fan of Reg but today he was severely lacking. I still think he'll eventually come good but for him to improve due to the lack of competition in the ressies is by showing faith in him at senior level.
Brennan is a waste of space. Brennan = Rowan Warfe MKII.

Ordinary last quarter. Those last two goals in the last minute cost us 1% pt.
Still don't think we're getting much out of McVeigh, Ablett or J Bolton.
Both Richards and Grundy also look like weak links.
Hall well beaten today.
Great games from Schneider (BOG), Goodes, Buchanan and Everitt.
Good games from Bevan, Jolly and O'Keefe.
Backline was helped enormously by an inept Melbourne midfield.
After training runs through the past two weeks, the next four weeks will be the real test.

Bolton and Ablett were pretty good in the first half. Jude played his role well up in the forward line, dragging McLean away from the middle but also applying good pressure up forward. And some of Ablett's work early in the middle was very good, tough, positive stuff.
None of the Swans was much good in the second half - maybe Goodes, Monty and Schneiderman aside who seemed to be the three intent on building a decent score.
As for Hall, they didn't seem to be kicking it to him at all today. Must have decided he needed a bit of a rest.

Roos said after the game that he's due back next week. Who is foxing?

They always do tough stuff and they usually butcher the ball when they get it.

We did what we had to do today and not much more. I just hope that the boys know that after the last two weeks the intensity will go up several notches next week and they're ready for it, or it could be another 1st quarter smashing if we're not on from the 1st bounce.
