Our running backs are always going to have a couple of goals kicked on them. Their job ideally is to create more opportunities going the other way. Provided the rest of the defense is stopping their opponents it does not hurt us.

We gain more by having them there attacking than having an extra couple of defenders to stop the opposition.

So he kicked that goal from the back pocket last night!!! For crying out loud he is coping very well with the tag and his second half last night was very good and he got the footy up the ground in that time, not in the last line.

I can't quite get the reason for this thread.

2 weeks in a row now he has run forward and goaled and last nights was as good a running goal as it gets to ice the game. Also Kennelly is back so he is not always the go to man for run out of defence.
            Agree with all of this!

He should be in the midfield.

Teams have tried the same with Kennelly over the years. With both Kennelly and Malceski, playing similar roles, it would be very hard for teams to drag both these guys back to the goal square.

If he saw our players on a weekly basis I may agree, but I'd be amazed if he did.

I've heard Jude Bolton and Jarrod McVeigh referred to as guns too many times to think commentators who watch our games once every couple of weeks have any idea at all.

I think that is one of the big problems with commentator observation on interstate sides. They don't get to see the sides in detail each week and so often make general comments (and J Bolton and McVeigh are great examples).

B1 WAS a gun ... back in the day.
Still though, he is normally at the bottom of any given pack.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

J Bolton has never been a gun - he's had probably 1.5 to 2 very good seasons.
