Agree, but think he is carrying a niggle also, seems to struggle getting off ground.

Suspect you talking more accontability though.

Don't know if it's his defence/acoountability down or if it's his form in general.

I think he's been on the slide for the last month. Coincidentally, just as McVeigh and Bevan have started to play!!! But anyways, he's certainly not at the level he was in the first half of the season.

He's still doing his job, but here's hoping he finds that form again.

Both Malceski and Kennelly are a bit weak in defence, but they are back there for their drive. Not unusual for the running half backs.

As the only Swan yet to subjected to a "what's wrong with" or "drop him" thread on RWO this year, he probably just feels left out.

It was good to see Malceski and Kennelly both have stints forward. Changing things up now and then is a good thing!

Yep. And we have enough groans on here on a weekly basis about how most of our team seems to have a defensive mindset rather than backing themselves to try to create stuff themselves. We can't have it both ways. If we want at least some of our team to be more attacking, we have to accept that they're not going to be brilliant defensively too.

What people are failing to pick up is opposition teams have now woken up to the fact that he is a very good player. He is getting tagged believe it or not and taken back to the goalsquare to negate his run. Dunstall brought this up last night.

2 weeks in a row now he has run forward and goaled and last nights was as good a running goal as it gets to ice the game. Also Kennelly is back so he is not always the go to man for run out of defence.

Nothing wrong with Melcho's defence he just needs a little work that's it.When he is getting tagged and drawn back to the goal square he has just got to drag his tagger up the ground and one of our other players drop back to defence. As it showed last night when he went forward he kicked a "swantastic" goal that was sublime. We all know that Melcho and Tiger are more attacking players but with Benny and Bevo doing so well over the the last month we dont need to worry. The players that need to step up are our big name players ROK,Goodes,Hall and MOL ATM its our second tear players that are doing the job.

We can all wax lyrical about his run etc., but he still plays in defence and his defence is sadly lacking and it worries me.

He had 2 goals kicked on him in the 3rd quarter last night just as we were looking to take control of the match.

Since Thomas tore him a new one opposition coaches are targetting him as a weak link.

I'm not suggesting he be dropped or anything stupid, but i reckon Roos needs to be proactive in planning a strategy for when his opponents drag him back deep in defence.

Perhaps a few changes were also thrown up to counter Lyons' knowledge of the players and game plan.
