Leave Swantastic alone. He'll eventually get used to the idea that the swannies have moved out of Melbourne. These things just take a little bit of time.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Oh gewd. 25 years is a long time to hold a grudge over a footy club. Let me gues, it's much more than a footy team..its your life? Gewd no wonder Melbournites are massive bores with their compulsive obsessions. The sooner old south people like you pass on the better it will be for the Sydney Swan brand and the new generation. This was evident when i was down in Melbourne recently and had an argument with an old south fan who refused to sing cheer cheer without singing "South will go in and win overall" and refuses to accept they are called Sydney Swans trying to tell me his team will never be called Sydney in his eyes.

Let go mate you're sounding rather pathetic.

Yep, if all the old South fans who now claim ownership of the Swans attended games at the Lake Oval in the late 70s early 80s, then the Swans would still be South Melbourne. They didn't so the club moved.

Remember the 80's and early 90's when they were @@@@ in Sydney?

Not many bums on seats in those days either.

In the 90's when we were claiming wooden spoons - there were double the supporters going to our games down here.

We picked up the wooden spoon in 92,93,94 and the average Sydney crowds in those years were 9881, 9423, 9813. The turnout of Swans fans in Melbourne was double that? Where have they all gone?

I did, but I was happy that my team survived as the Sydney Swans. It was that or go the way of University.....just disappear.

I dont have a gruge with the club but i do with the VFL for not helping South out enough.Yep it is my life during winter but you wouldnt know that coming from Sydney.Football is life in Melbourne during winter not just for Bloods fans but for every other club too.For another thing i'm not old so i will be around for a long time calling them the "Bloods/Swans" and calling Esky -MELCHO.Why shouldnt that old timer sing""South will go in and win overall" its his perogative to do so,i dont call them the "Sydney Swans"just the "Swans/Bloods" even my 2 little kids call them the "Swans/Bloods"

I'm still here Stell, but it pisses me off that a lot of the old South supporters have dropped off.Its a bit hard in Melbourne to recruit young fans to follow the Swans because IMO they dont get to see them enough and their in a different city.

The only reason the called them the "Sydney Swans" was to sell the brand to Sydneysiders who mostly followed thugby league. Why after 25 years do a lot of people in Sydney still call AFL,Gay FL,if all those thugby league fans actually watched AFL they would realise that it is a great sport to watch.I never really watched thugby league until the Storm started in "99" and now i reckon its great. For the record i hated the fact that South had to relocate, but i love the fact that they didnt have to fold.
