The Ed "Cheese" Barlow Appreciation Thread

He has to have his own thread after the game he just had.

I have to ask why has he not played before???

He adjusted well to the speed of the game and made some good decisions.
Yes it is his first game but he has done enough to show he is going to play alot of senior footy.

Also thought Brennan had his best game so far.

I would say a vintage Cheddar - allowed a couple of years to mature before being released for consumption.

Started like a house on fire, but probably some of his decisions let him down later on. Still, a lot to like and very impressive fitness. He must have played the most of any Swan debutant in recent years.

RWO's newest member is barlow. He has a bandwagon already. Enough said!

Very impressive. Gave away a couple of frees but no glaring mistakes, showed a lot of poise (and skill!) for a first-gamer.

Commentators had a lot of trouble picking him and B2 apart, though I reckon he looks like a cross between B2 and Cameron Ling, though he is a bit better-looking than that sounded.

He looks similar to Luke Vogels as well, especially when both play in the forward line in the reserves. I think he did enough to keep his spot, Leo should come in for Luke Brennan.

Well done Cheese. I think he's done enough to keep his spot in the side for at least another week, unlike other young players maligned on this forum.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

He played great, and has a bit of an Adam Goodes about him.

Dont expect him to play that well again this year. The opposition will take notice of him next time.

So, who says the canberra comp isnt a good nursery ????

No way should Brennan be dropped, he was excellent tonight...looks like a great pick up..... if his knees hold up.
Beven should be first to go.

I think the canberra comp can be improved.

                    Me, 1 million times.

Barlow you might remember finished his football schooling in Melbourne.

The Canberra comp is @@@@ - actually it isn't that good. We were lucky that he has the physical ability to stand up but also the mental ability to reinforce that. Maybe 2 years at a Melb school helped?

He was great. Showed so much for a first gamer. Probably even more than Melcho as a first gamer.
