We look to Hall far too much and now he is struggling it is a big problem - we kick far too few goals.
Another one was when Jude was completely on his own front-on to the goal posts and they kicked it to Hall who had two defenders on him.

I think Collingwood did enough tonight- they had two excellent parts to their game in their defensive pressure and their tackling was good. Other then that I thought they did enough but didnt really impress me. They certainly plenty of times were helped by getting some dodgy calls go their way (And You cant tell me the umpires dont get influenced by the crowd because its bleedingly obvious that at times they d!). But generally they were a cut above us- but that is not saying much as a lot of our game tonight was very very poor. They do have some decent young players coming through who could go on to be very good but lol I just dont rate Thomas. He could very well prove me wrong but I think he is overrated and wont be half the player that the commentators think he will be.

Another was when Adam Goodes was lining up from the left boundary on an awkward angle and Davis drifted clear of his man a few metres further in and a very gettable distance. AG kicked a behind when a quick stab pass to Davis went begging.

see thread pathetic, pathetic, pathetic. Could notpossibly make the GF this year. Looks like they might have to give Tadgh Syndy town to convince him to stay longer because without him we struggle big time.

Collingwood were much cleaner around the stoppages as well.
Collingwood's pressure and work in close was very good, but their disposal was generally ordinary. They were a mile behind what I saw on Friday night.

We can still miss the 8 FFS, we probably will too.

the lower we finish the better. we are uncompetitive against the better teams (we are 3 from 10 against top eight sides) it is who we draft now that matters

Interestingly, as I write Sydney still have the 2nd-best percentage in the league.

Which to my mind just confirms what an even comp it is, and how many relatively mediocre sides who have done enough in cruicial games will be in the top 8... and even riding high in the top 4.

On current form, teams wouldn't have enormous fear of playing Sydney in the finals. But then, I don't think that a team with any pretensions to winning the flag should have any real fear of any of Port Adelaide, Roos, Collingwood or Hawthorn either. They're all sides whose fans, at the start of the year, would have been happy that they made the 8 at all. Unless Geelong implode or the Weagles' midffield goes out with injuries, any of those 4 should be cannon-fodder in any prelim final they make.

If Adelaide make the 8, I think they're finals-hardened and their style will scrub up pretty well under the pressure of September. I'd rather avoid playing them than any of the 4 sides listed above.

Even presuming everything else goes wrong, you think Essendon will 'probably' beat the Weagles in Perth?

You might want to stay away from BigFooty for a few days if you don't want to cop more flak.

Wouldn't surprise me. They'll be playing for a finals spot and it could possibly be Hird and Sheedy's final game. You can bet ya bottom dollar they'll be fired up.

That and we have the second lowest losing margin (13.75 points) and the second lowest greatest loss (26 points vs. St Kilda) for the season.

It really doesn't mean much when most of the games are low-scoring and we barely produce four solid quarters of footy. The 1-point losses against the Eagles and Bombers plus the draw against the Lions have cost us dearly and we might miss out on the finals race altogether because of those results.
