Eagles will be without Kerr, Judd and Hansen next week against an emotion charged Essendon. An Essendon victory is very possible.
Adelaide are a big chance of beating the Pies aswell.
So if Essendon and Adelaide win, and we lose to an in form Hawthorn - We're out of the 8.Comment

Pies got these players from priority draft picks thanks to them finishing in the bottom 3 a few times in the last 5-6 yrsComment

Agree SimonH. The backline was loose last night but will be stiffened up with Leo Barry and LRT, I'm not sure about Dempster but he would give some run through the lines. We were exposed also by lack of height in the backs and it looks ominous for next week with the Hawks having good height with Franklin, Roughhead and Boyle. We can do it though even without Amon.Comment

Looks like we're safe in the 8, Richmond has just about won the game against Essendon, so they're gone.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

2008 starts early
With Essendon losing today, the Swans are definitely in the eight. So next week will be the perfect time to rest everyone who needs it. The Hawks on the other hand, have a top 4 spot to play for, so expect that they will come out firing.
Anyone that needs surgery requiring a rehab that will cut into next season, should get it now, even if that means Kennelly and Hall won't play again this year. It hardly matters anyway.
The Swans need to rebuild now, with a few new players and new game plan. I would give Barlow, Laidlaw, Moore, Thornton, Brabazon, Simpkin and White all a go for the next 2 weeks. I don't know if it is still possible to elevate another rookie, if so, maybe Rowe or Jack again.
This year is shot, so lets give ourselves something to look forward to in 2008.Comment
