Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

      Cabbage!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

My point was more that they tried to stop him rather than just give him a free license.. Sewell has been good this year, but generally overrated by the Melbourne media.

I wonder if they'll trot out the same story about his training regime lightening to explain his form turnaround.

Sewell was very good this year and last its just that he has just had a few lean weeks in recent times.B1 is over rated by the melbourne but not Sewell ,they are spot on with their assessment of him(Sewell)
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

So you agree when they said he was a bigger improver than Malceski?

No i dont agree,IMHO Melcho has improved far more than Sewell has this year.

That's a bit of an exaggeration. It's probably line ball.

Sewell came 3rd in the Hawks' B&F last season and seems likely to finish top 5 this year. Malceski didn't finish in the top 10 of the Swans' last year and is likely to finish top 5 this year.

So unless one puts the Hawks' improvement mostly down to a greater output from their top rated players, it seems a fairly easy argument to construct that Malceski's improvement this year has been greater than Sewell's. And my view would be that the Hawks' improvement hasn't come from their top group (who have been quite strong even when they were down in the dumps) but from a far more even contribution from their second and third tier players.

If one is looking at improvement in the two players over the past TWO seasons, it is probably line ball, except that Malceski needs to back it up next year to demonstrate this year wasn't a fluke (and I have as little doubt that he will do so as I have ever had about a player's ability to maintain his output, injuries permitting).
