Yeah, I know they'll argue me into the ground, and I probably should have done a quick check first, but the general gist is there (if you know what I mean).
No one can tell me what Kirky's done that's so inspirational, other than do the Kokoda track. If he was so best and fairest, don't you think they would have given him a brownlow?
Getting kocked out cold by a boot to the head then walking along the boundary letting the opposition know we get back up after the biggest of hits.
Final minutes of 2005 GF running head first into Cousins chasing the pill in our back 50 never taking his eye off the ball.
I can go on and on if required....Comment

Give it up Annie....
Goodes is no where near the leader that Kirk is. Perhaps after Kirk goes, he and the Eski will be co-captains (Along with McVeigh)......
But whilst Kirky continues to play, Goodes will be taking a back seat in the captaincy department.
Besides, in a couple of years time with more experience, he probably WILL be captain.Comment

His 3-qtr time speech in the prelim against the Saints in '05 is widely regarded as the motivating force behind our fantastic peformance.

I need something more "inspirational" than that to be convinced.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Interesting to see who wiggles Kirk's head around after the incident in an example of exactly what not to do with a football injury.Comment

The kick to the head - youtube also has other videos of him OK after the hit.

Back on topic, there's no way Goodes should replace Kirk. The ammount of times he's gotten back up after taking a big hit, and lifted the boys with his hard style of play, is truly remarkable. Blubbering baby Riewoldt should take notes.Comment

Kirk will always be the captain until he retires. Goodesy will have to wait. His inspiring 3 quarter time speech against the Saints in the 05 Prelim will be etched in my memory forever.
Kirk is the heart and soul of this club.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.
