Goodsey's gunna miss out and Melcho is most likely the walk in (now there's one inspirational kid ... future brownlow medalist - mark my words).

    Boo hoo. Boo boo hoo.

His 3-qtr time speech in the prelim against the Saints in '05 is widely regarded as the motivating force behind our fantastic peformance.

Getting kocked out cold by a boot to the head then walking along the boundary letting the opposition know we get back up after the biggest of hits.

Final minutes of 2005 GF running head first into Cousins chasing the pill in our back 50 never taking his eye off the ball.

I can go on and on if required....

          Give it up Annie....

Goodes is no where near the leader that Kirk is. Perhaps after Kirk goes, he and the Eski will be co-captains (Along with McVeigh )......

But whilst Kirky continues to play, Goodes will be taking a back seat in the captaincy department.

Besides, in a couple of years time with more experience, he probably WILL be captain.

Oh come on... they all take hits.
I need something more "inspirational" than that to be convinced.

I love the guy..and the love he has for the swans brings a tear to my eye. He adores our club.

I named my kitty kat after him.

The kick to the head - youtube also has other videos of him OK after the hit.

Interesting to see who wiggles Kirk's head around after the incident in an example of exactly what not to do with a football injury.

He wanted Kirk out for an extended period so he could become captain himself.

                    That's what I heard anyway . . . (From Spiders cousin and Dizzy's mate)
And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .

He was holding his head still, look closer.

Back on topic, there's no way Goodes should replace Kirk. The ammount of times he's gotten back up after taking a big hit, and lifted the boys with his hard style of play, is truly remarkable. Blubbering baby Riewoldt should take notes.

Could Annie be the brains behind this devious plot?

Kirk will always be the captain until he retires. Goodesy will have to wait. His inspiring 3 quarter time speech against the Saints in the 05 Prelim will be etched in my memory forever.

Kirk is the heart and soul of this club.
