You'll have people diving for their AFL History books here Annie. There are plenty of non club captain Brownlow medalists.

The Brownlow is not a leadership award....nor is tossing the coin a significant captains duty. Kirk is inspirational and deserves his captaincy for many years to come.
Yeah, I know they'll argue me into the ground, and I probably should have done a quick check first, but the general gist is there (if you know what I mean).

No one can tell me what Kirky's done that's so inspirational, other than do the Kokoda track. If he was so best and fairest, don't you think they would have given him a brownlow?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Annie, methinks you may be outvoted on this one! Pissing in the wind?? Swimming against the tide?

How about the uncanny ability Goodsey has to seem to be in two places at once?
          Is that not inspirational?

I'll fight to the death if it meant Goodsey was made captain 2008.

I'm still entitled to my opinion, and I value all your opinions.

              It's not often we agree.

I dont think Goodes should be captain. Kirk is the man.

You are impatient aren't you? Good captains don't become great leaders until they've been doing it for a number of years. A little thing called history proves this.

Since you're hung up on the Best and Fairest concept how about a truce?

Lets make the Best and Fairest player from the year that we last won a Premiership our captain?

To win the B&F that year you must be 'inspirational'.

It's probably before you jumped onboard but here you go:

2003 Qualifying Final vs Port Adelaide.

                          That's a fair point.

Malcho is probably the man most likely.

No, to be the captain, you must have won the best and fairest more than once.

I loved the advertising campaign that followed in 2004. That was inspiring.

Interesting to see who fed Kirk the hospital handpass as well.
