True that. C Bolts is still my tip and very very well deserved. Should be All Australian too, but will unfortunately feel the wrath of opposition supporters saying he didn't deserve to be in the team.

First of all, I don't think they'll go away from the present captaincy setup, and, secondly, Kirk could not possibly have it taken away from him. None of Kirk ,Hall and Barry look as if this is his last season, So I don't see how Goodesy, great as he is, can get there next year..in the future, sure! And alone, I hope.

Having an ex-captain currently playing, is nothing new. Quite a few teams have done it in the past. It doesn't diminish from them being fabulous players (e.g. Hird), but it does give someone else a chance while they're ripe for it (e.g. Goodes).

What's Kirk done that's so special as a Captain? I can't even recall seeing him toss a coin this year? I'm not saying he's not a fabulous player (he is), I'm saying it's time for a change of guard.

Ummm Kirk is an inspiration. He is the sort that players would bleed for. He should be the sole captain of the club IMHO>

Why? Because he did the Kokoda trail? BFD.

Can he still be "inspirational" and NOT be captain?

Captains arent just captains because of what they do
Its even more a case of what they can lead others to do

And that is Kirky, far more than Goodes...and I say that even though, as my 'name' suggests, I am a Goodes-fan

IMO Kirk should be standalone captain

I reckon Goodsey can inspirationally lead ... FFS - he has TWO brownlows (that's TWO more than Kirk). We're the only team who haven't rewarded our Brownlow medalist with the captaincy.

We won't really know unless he's given the chance (... more than the two or three games offered over the six captain fiasco).

Once again you've proven you don't know what you're talking about.

Brownlow Medals have nothing to do with leadership and do not entitle the winner to the captaincy of any club. Simon Black, for one, has never captained Brisbane.

You'll have people diving for their AFL History books here Annie. There are plenty of non club captain Brownlow medalists.

The Brownlow is not a leadership award....nor is tossing the coin a significant captains duty. Kirk is inspirational and deserves his captaincy for many years to come.

Don't be so rude Hammo. I haven't proven anything of the sort. If you want to start baiting me, I'll start reporting you. OK?

I realise they don't automatically "entitle" the winner to a captaincy ... but a) it goes a long way towards it, and b) it would be noice (especially as he's won TWO).

Goodsey is already part of the leadership group ... so you would automatically think he does have a little bit of experience in "leadership" and leadership issues.

You get the brownlow for being the best and fairest player. What better inspiration is there for a younger player than playing alongside (and under) the best and fairest.

And a season as part of the "band of six" (or was it two seasons?)

As for the other player that sets a better example ... why Goodsey of course.
