He should of been in the 1's for at least half of last season, and most, if not all, of this season. Then we would of, most likely, had a skillful inside midfielder about to hit his straps....Instead, it seems, we'll be dishing up more of the same next season, from the same unskilled, tired ,old midfield.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... Reading the leading players in the Canberra Award, I really think it is important that Paul Roos and the match committee next year promote more younger players to the senior level than the numbers promoted in recent past years.
The club must at least start in 2008 to rebuild, and not depend completely on the 2003-2007 template. A good model to look at is the Premiers from the year before us, Port Adelaide, and to a lesser extent Brisbane.Comment

Thanks ROK, I'm pleased to read that for the sake of the amateur players in the other ACTAFL teams who have little chance of playing in a premiership team for as long as the Swans are there. I almost want Queanbeyan to win this weekend (go the underdog!).You might be surprised. it is generally considered a good thing. For instance, a young fellow at work plays for the Queanbeyan Tigers. He is pretty confident that they can win (I certainly think that are not without a chance). But he is busting a gut toplay against Grundy, Vogels, Barlow, Moore et al. Knowing that you can have a go and test yourself against guys that have played AFL - or in the case of the genuine reserves have been identified as potential AFL footballers - is a huge buzz for a lot of the guys here.Occupational hazards:
