This can be a bad sign for a Swans player; you have to be a reserves regular to get enough votes to win (ie you didn't get called up). The kiss of death?

Didn't Spriggs win it last year? Look what happened to him...

It tells me that perhaps the wrong players were elevated
        e.g. Philips,Jack,Laidlaw,Barlow, Brennan
        others waiting Brabazon,Thornton,White, Simpkin
        Then you had Schmidt, Grundy
        Then Bevan and Dempster
        Will be interesting what happens
Moore has 1 more year to run on his present contract
        cheers

He has had an awesome year.

How is it that he's only played 2 games in the seniors when so many midfielders have been out of form?

Brownie points from the GF's for poor GF performances and player interviewer for the club magazine.

Congrats to Jarred on his win and to Ryan on being runner-up
Hopefully it will be enough encouragement to take them into 2008 and some opportunities to play Seniors

Kool he might be worth something as trade bait - so we can get the fast hard running outside midfielder we need.

It must suck for the other teams in the Canberra league. Every year they know that they're absolutely no chance of winning a premiership and the players know that they have no chance of winning the Mulrooney.

It's no different to playing for Richmond

LOL. Seriously though, Sydney's participation in the ACTAFL must be ruining that comp. They will be glad when Sydney pulls out to play its reserves in the VFL.
Meanwhile, Moore's future in the ACTAFL is assured, poor thing.

You might be surprised. it is generally considered a good thing. For instance, a young fellow at work plays for the Queanbeyan Tigers. He is pretty confident that they can win (I certainly think that are not without a chance). But he is busting a gut toplay against Grundy, Vogels, Barlow, Moore et al. Knowing that you can have a go and test yourself against guys that have played AFL - or in the case of the genuine reserves have been identified as potential AFL footballers - is a huge buzz for a lot of the guys here. While the inclusion of the Swans has lop-sided the comp it probably has raised the standard of 2 or 3 of the teams and the football generally. A combined ACT/Sydney and maybe Wollongong/Newcastle league would be a fantastic thing - possibly played in divisions or structured in some way to minimise travel and costs. I am looking forward to this week end's GF. Best bit will be that there will be less than 500 there, it will cost $7 to get in and nothing to park, the sun will be warm(ish) the beer will be cold and chances are the pies will be Villies!
