It tells me that perhaps the wrong players were elevated
e.g. Philips,Jack,Laidlaw,Barlow, Brennan
others waiting Brabazon,Thornton,White, Simpkin
Then you had Schmidt, Grundy
Then Bevan and Dempster
Will be interesting what happens
Moore has 1 more year to run on his present contractcheersComment

You might be surprised. it is generally considered a good thing. For instance, a young fellow at work plays for the Queanbeyan Tigers. He is pretty confident that they can win (I certainly think that are not without a chance). But he is busting a gut toplay against Grundy, Vogels, Barlow, Moore et al. Knowing that you can have a go and test yourself against guys that have played AFL - or in the case of the genuine reserves have been identified as potential AFL footballers - is a huge buzz for a lot of the guys here. While the inclusion of the Swans has lop-sided the comp it probably has raised the standard of 2 or 3 of the teams and the football generally. A combined ACT/Sydney and maybe Wollongong/Newcastle league would be a fantastic thing - possibly played in divisions or structured in some way to minimise travel and costs. I am looking forward to this week end's GF. Best bit will be that there will be less than 500 there, it will cost $7 to get in and nothing to park, the sun will be warm(ish) the beer will be cold and chances are the pies will be Villies!Comment
