    Thierry Hall

While everyone can see that Baz is a top player, the recent departure of Henry and Arsenal's turnaround in form I think is quite a good parallel.

Our best games this year were played without Baz (with particular reference to Hawks Rnd 22, but also Geelong) and I dont think it is any coincidence.

At Arsenal, the younger brigade have stepped up without Henry, and have commented that it is easier playing without him. He was also a cranky player if he wasn't constantly being fed the ball.

Although it might seem like a crazy idea, it might just refresh the side.

It's hard not to bring Baz's injuries into the equation for this year, but overall maybe that is a change we should look at?

Hopefully Hall gets his head and injuries sorted out in the off-season.

Similar situation with the Pies this year - the rest of the team really lifted with Buckley out.

One of our best games was a loss? How do you rate the 10 or so wins we had when Hall actually played?

      Keep trying

Agree in part, our foward structure was much better with Hall not playing this year.

Davis, O'keefe and Mickey, all fed the ball, made us much more dangerous. When Baz is in the team his reputation demands the ball.

        But

A fit Hall is a different story altogether, when fit he makes our forward line the best in the comp.

Oi, who are you and what have you done with Layby???

Sensible, well reasoned and accurate post with not a hint of a piss take.

          Somethings fishy.

If we could get $56 million for Hall and then be allowed to spend that on re stocking the side with best young talent in the land, then I would pay that anology.

Unfortunately we operate on vastly different systems for bringing players to a club.

Henry was allowed to be cranky because he was a gun forward and scored most of their goals.Your right in part tho, since he has left Fabregas and Bergkamp Jr have been flying.

I don't see the point in this thread as unless he has complications with his groin op - he will be in the team next year (at least). He simply will not be dropped by Roos and he is not going to retire. Result = we have to find a way to kick to him AND kick to anybody that is free or leading in the forward line

You're right: it is a crazy idea.

Hall's signed till the end of 2009. He's going NOWHERE.

I think the guy's entitled to a 'down' season. He's been carrying a variety of injuries all year yet has still managed to play some great footy. Albeit in spurts.

You don't boost morale by axing your captain. (unless its Lance Whitnall)

Rest assured: next year Baz will come out of the blocks firing ready to lead us to another premiership.

It's not necessarily to suggest we should turf him, but I think there is a big parallel between the two.

Halls hissy fits and tantrums would not help any of the youngsters confidence, and it should be addressed...

I dont think it's any coincidence the gunners have been on fire since he left.

We dont have an open market, but we would be compensated with draft picks...
