I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

If he goes into the midfield the opposition knows he will be our one and only target player to carry and distribute the ball. He will be worn like a glove and smashed at every chance to limit his effectiveness.
At half back he can lose his opponent in broken play and get forward more and hopefully get a hold of the footy and use it.
Opposition teams have tried in the past to pull him back to the goal line, but if we get someone like Miller to play FB, then C Bolton or Barry can be used to stand Malceski's opponent and release him.

Agree with Tadhg and Malceski still at half back with Marty Mattner who starred in 05 on the wing.
Really excited about Marty.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.

We have to give the Clones a player as part of the Mattner deal IMO, unless we lose players for draft picks through some other trade week deal(s).
Adding one player in trade week, and not losing anyone, could make a very tight situation unworkably bad. If the hierarchy can't persuade Crouch to retire, and there are 2 rookie promotions (Barlow plus one of Jack/Brennan) plus minimum 3 draft picks (including Bird), then that will be 6 delistings, thanks very much. Make any list you like of 6 existing players on the Swans senior roster to cut-- you're going to make a lot of people very unhappy.
If we didn't have the above problem, Mattner would be worth pick 28. But we do have that problem; so maybe Donk and our round 3 pick.Comment

THANK you Nico. Nic Fosdike has lifetime membership of the Swans, he WILL not be added in to no deal as no sweetner. Put it to bed, it aint happening.Comment

No, having fled Adelaide myself, he may have no other reason.

Crows are not that unhappy to be losing him, just not happy that it seems to be for a second round pick despite them holding the whip handle as he is contracted for next year.
Pick 28 for him looks to be slightly in our favour, maybe early 20's would be more neutral a deal and more in line with what the Crows supporters would accept.
