I agree with the sentiment of the article too. The ongoing argy-bargy during trade week concluding in a frantic final 15 minutes as clubs then rush and panic to get deals completed can be a bit tedious (although that final 15 minutes can be exciting). Credit and thanks to the Crows for not behaving like Hawthorn and more or less agreeing to a deal so early in the week.

It's a nice change in the weather - that is for sure. But I can see the neccesitation of clubs holding out to better see the intentions of the clubs they are trading with. Negotiation is healthy, but when a deal is simple it should be completed ASAP.I agree with the sentiment of the article too. The Swans' trading behaviour in past years should have got them a reputation for being fair to trade with. AFL trade week isn't about isolated trades where you try to win at all costs. (Pelchen once said he won't agree to a trade unless he has clearly won at the expense of the other club- ego getting in the way of what could otherwise be a win-win situation).
It is about building a longer term reputation for being fair to deal with.
Other clubs suggested we paid too much for Jolly and Richards. Some may still think that, though with hindsight (and the real hit rate of picks at around the 15-20 range, rather than the expectation that you may draft a superstar), those trades look reasonable. But they do suggest Sydney aren't scared to pay what they think is fair value for a player at the trade table.Comment

Clowns like Pelchen are the reason trade week has become such a farce and player movement between clubs has become so restricted.
He was responsible for the Nick Stevens debacle as well as the Everitt stalemate.
He is also the reason why Hawthorn will be sitting in a room by themselves this week with no one to talk to."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

WHY ????? i dont think our players should feel obligated to give up their numbers for new team members ... and besides, reg might love being number 39 and might want to keep it ...Comment

He has murdered Barry Hall over recently years. Will most definitely help take some of the pressure of the over-worked Craig Bolton.
He is a very good defender. I wonder why Adelaide are so keen to get rid of him.
