If we secure Mattner then the loss of either Scheinder or Monty would be adequately covered. Probably prefer to keep Scheinder as he tends to play more forward than Monty so Mattner would be a better replacement.

By trading one of them, it meant we could find a mature FB or KP Defender I would be happy with that as well.

The other good news is that Alex Rance is being talked about falling below pick 10 which would give us exactly what we need at pick 11.

Really is six of one, half a dozen of the other. Schneider offers precious goals, but we have small goalsneaks (N Davis, Phillips, McVeigh); Buchanan at his best can be an amazing terrier at the bottom of the packs, but we've got plenty of existing inside midfielders plus the likes of Moore who deserve more opportunities in 2008.

Really is buyer's choice as to who will get better value for us. I don't think we should get rid of both.

Would like to keep both but the idea of Mattner is a little exciting. I think the exit of one of Bukes or Schneids would be covered by the likes of Schmidt, Moore, Barlow, Phillips.

Schneids has had tanties all year this year and wouldn't surprise me as being put up as trade bait because of an attitude problem while on the other hand, Bukes was left out of the finals side so there might be something going on backstage with that one.

Why do people keep bringing up Moore and Phillips as potential senior players. They are both too small! You have to be brilliant footballers to make it at their size and neither of them have better than average ability. I suspect they will both be delisted when the trades are over.

Philips yes too small, but Moore is a perfect size for in and under rover/ ruck rover.

Despite the talk from Roos and others of aggressive trading, realistically it's the likes of Buchanan and Schneider who are the only players of any value we'd be prepared to trade.

The rest of the list is untradable (too valuable, too old or unknown).

I can't see anyone nibbling on the likes of Vogels, Grundy, Bevan etc. I can easily see Vogels doing a Scott Stevens and being a capable player elsewhere if given the chance.

Even if we trade both Buchanan & Schneider we'd still have the market cornered for short stocky midfielders.

Moore is both taller and heavier than Schneider and Phillips, while giving up a bit in weight, is only 1cm shorter.

I hope not! I'd rather we delisted a few instead.

Moore is solid. He has excellent hands, better than most of our inside MF.

Looking from the point of view of potential you'd have to say Schnider has more. Both have shown glimpses, both are inconsistant. If one was to become consistant (magically) I'd take Schnider. Plus he's more marketable and more of a crowd favorite.

If we lost Bucky and he went on at another club I'd say fair enough. If it was Schnider, I'd be disappointed.

Would let Schneider go in a heartbeat, just wave good bye, in fact will volunteer to pay airfare

Buchannan very good player, unlucky to not have Norm Smith, kicked winning goal in GF but needs motivation. We have what plenty of other clubs don't, strong inside midfielders, with Moore, Schmidt now Bird pushing into that group.

Let them go better for us better for them, some papers report Doyle may also be leaving

We should chase Tim Boyle. Apparently the Hawks only want a second rounder for him. We could ontrade a pick from one of these guy, if we were to trade them.

We have players of unknown talent rotting in the reserves unable to break into the senior team. Yet our strategy is to swap players and picks for other clubs' players. Surely the way to go is to trade a number of average players for a higher quality player or higher draft pick? This would allow us to push some younger guys through next year and yet limit the impact on list depth.

Not Buchanan. He kicked the winning goal in the 2005 GF and shoulda got the Norm Smith. For that act alone we should hang onto him till he's in a walking frame. Schnieder is the less consistent of the two. Plus Bucky shows more grunt.

In an ideal world I'd keep em both.
