I'd be very disappointed to lose either of these players, unless they desperately wanted out. We have so few players with run and spark that to get rid of them would be utterly foolish IMO.
Buchanan and Schneider offered as trade bait

Don't have a problem with either of them going. It's been a mutually satisfying relationship with the two of them for a few years but their contribution this season was under expectation. Good chance for both swans and the gobbledocks to have fresh starts.
Both of them have cemented places in the clubs history.Comment

Thats the problem at the Swans...holding onto guys and giving them games due to past merit/form. We need to stop living in the past and look towards the future.Comment

We could maybe lose one, but not both. I've seen these guys for a long time of being from a similar mould. Both small, quick, skilled and can kick a few goals when they want to. But I'd hate to see them both go.
But what to trade for one of them???
Somehow, if we could get Tenace & Matner and still keep pick 11, I'd be happy. Tenace and maybe Boyle even. But for @@@@'s sake, let's keep pick 11!!Comment

Why do people keep bringing up Moore and Phillips as potential senior players. They are both too small! You have to be brilliant footballers to make it at their size and neither of them have better than average ability. I suspect they will both be delisted when the trades are over.
If either of them want to go or we can get good trades for them then why not? I think they're both good players but both have major flaws too (Buchanan disposal and Schneider lack of intensity).Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

The idea of trading is to give up something to get something in return. Buchanan is worthy of a swap with a good player or an early second round pick, hence why the Swans are shopping him around.
Delisting players is a separate issue to trading, and just delisting fringe players isn't going to strengthen the list.

schneider:
Expendable. Hasnt kicked on and with Davis and McVeigh and half a dozen other potentials for crumbing forward he wont be missed much. Relatively high currency value to his age and flag.
Buchanan:
His best is past him IMO. He's a player who during 05/06 got the absolute best out of his limited ability. I cant see him capturing that form again consistanty, so we might as well get something for him while he's still useful.Comment

I'd much prefer we offered Bevan and McVeigh as trade bait instead of Monty and Schneider. I still think Schneider has a lot to offer and am prepared to wait another year for him to lift to the next level, which I'm sure he can do. He's an exciting player who appears to be committed to the Swans. His fearless calming influence on Barry Hall when Hall looks like he's about to lose it has been a plus on the field too. I get the impression that he and Hall are quite good mates so hopefully Bazza might influence a decision to keep Schneider.
What will all the RWOers with Schneider in their nics do if he's traded?Occupational hazards:

i think buchanon will go and schneider will stay. Im basing this purely on the fact that they will probably get traded to a melb club and buchanon is a victorian. I love them both and wouldnt want to see either go but reality says that neither have performed to their usual high standards this year and maybe a change of scenary is what they need. I would rather see them go to another club (providing they dont want to stay) and be successful then stay with us, hate it and cost some young kid a spot in the seniors.Comment
