I guess that the club has now given up pressuring Crouch (presuming they could be bothered doing so in the first place), and there'll be no retirements. No, long-term injuries don't solve anything at this stage. They only allow rookies to be played in the league side once a season is up and running.

If you look at the player list on the Swans website. There are 39 players. This includes the 2 new boys and the 3 who have been delisted.

I noted that Jack was on this list already. Brennan and Barlow still on rookie list.

This would mean that there are 36 places on the list as it now stands. 3 still to come during draft.

I'm confused If we promote B & B does this mean 2 more have to go?
The short answer is, 'Depends on whether the Swans list one or both of MOL and Leo Barry as outside veterans, which would effectively give us another 2 (or one) places on our senior list'. If neither of them are moved, then yes, we can't promote a single goddamn person without further delisting.

Has anybody noticed this interesting line from the story on the contracting of JBolt: "With trade week concluded and delisting of players finalised, the Football Department now turns its focus to the Draft"?

In another report on the re-signing of Bolton there was a final line that the club was still contemplating making further changes to the list before the final lodgement date of 31 October.

We know the list can't be final. There are just too many rookies remaining.

Why wouldn't we promote both? Salary cap? I can't think of any other reason.

MickyO's already on the pensioner list (you just can't tell, because he plays like a 25 year old) ... he was elevated at the end of last year.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

It would lessen the number of rookies we could list.

I reckon Roos must have lost that book he read, maybe he lent it to someone and never got it back.

                    Animal Farm?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It would have to happen tomorrow.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

Not really. As long as you've got no more than 35 warm bodies in senior slots (and we do), that'll do for list lodgment one on 31/10. Then, to give the accountants more time to squeeze everyone into the cap, on 16/11 we have list lodgment two where I think we really need to bite the bullet with promoting Cheese (and maybe someone else), working out if we have the available cap to put MOL and Leo as o/s vets, maybe saying sayonara to someone else to make space for Cheese, etcetera.

There could well be list lodgment three, four and five after that; but 16/11 is the important one as it's the last before the national draft. (Given our tight cap situation, can't imagine we'll be players in the PSD market.)
