    I agree, Hammo

Keep one thing in mind that Cousins isn't in a great bargaining position as most clubs would have done their contracts and salaries for next year and he might have to accept what the market is willing to risk with him.

He is still young enough to contribute and talented as well.

Just image him in the midfield, just what we need.

Perhaps one of the previsos is that he lives with Spider!!!!!

I think he has a lot to prove and would be driven to perform and stay off the yippy stuff. Mind you, he won't have Chick around so that's a goofd thing.

Happy to say yes right now.
        Definitely worth the risk.

i must admit, a bit dissappointed by the swans knee jerk reaction to the geelong presidents comments.

The possibility should have been at least explored.

I live in Perth and dont have any sympathy for the guy for his past misdameanours (spelt wrong i know).
However the incident the other day in the cold light of the day, cuz didn't actually do anything wrong. refusing the test, well it is actually only a new law by 10 days at the time, and i wouldn't have known that it was illegal to do that.

as i said in a previous thread, if he is committed to rehab and then his footy, and you would get 3-4 yurs out of him, he would be ideal to capitalise on what is really a 1-2 more years of opportunity in the short term.

We have 2 class ruckman and we dont have that dynamic midfielder to capitalise on them. we can so no way would dont we want him, yet same would have been said about plugger at the time and how big did he become in sydney.
If he performed and kept himself out of trouble, i think sydney fans would take to him.

if what the attendant said on the flight is correct, he may have been thinking sydney was the best place for him, in not only his recovery but his footy career. to which i agree.

Hopefully as time goes on, sydney may reconsider its position, and maybe they have just doen that to stop any speculation in the short time, to allow both ben time to get himself right and the club to look at it without the media looking over the shoulders of the club.

Yep, with our without the drugs - who cares? He is a better footballer than any our our midfielders (except maybe Goodes). Let him come, let him use. Only problem is he might get more publicity than Paul, but with a decent haircut, even that's unlikely.

                    These new revelations worry me.

I mean, how are we going to keep up the obsessive hatred, when/if he plays for another club ?

You just get a good obsession, and then his happens, very bloody annoying

The Swans worded their statement very carefully. They said they wouldn't chase Cousins - which still leaves it wide open for his Manager to chase the Swans and convince them he's serious about playing for us.

I think he may just end up here.....
                      Regards,

He's being retained on the Eagles list, so its not an option anyway.

So much for the Eagles tough stand on drugs!.

What does that mean? Didn't they sack him? Meaning he has be de-registered from the AFL. How does he stay on their list?

                              source.

"It is believed that after the national draft, the Eagles can delist Cousins because any compensation would be excluded from this year's salary cap."
