I agree 100% - that poor bloke deserves this opportunity.
I can't remember a pre-season in my short history where there have been so many ACL's done. Although they're not contact injuries (for the most part), I wonder if this will answer the AFL's question - Does limiting the interchange reduce the amount of injuries?
Eski back round 9??

LOL his positive attitude must have been really really positive as it did bring about a miracle procedure!Leave a comment:

It will be a dream come true if it works, to have him back by mid season would be terrific.
I hope they use the same technique on Biglands, it's an absolute tragedy for that young fella to have gone through the op and rehab that he has, only to find it was unsuccessful. You wouldn't wish that on anyone.Leave a comment:

And is that a problem if they do? It's a shame to see any footballer's year over before it starts. If they can all get back within 6 months, all power to them.
Also, it's not as if the Swans have pioneered this treatment. It's not their's to protect.Leave a comment:

I did a google on LARS, seems it has been around for over 15 years. The problem up till now has been that the synthetic ligaments have had a "use by" date, they fail after as little as two tears and the recipient is back under the knife. I hope Dr Gibbs has done his homework.Leave a comment:

Fantastic news. Even if he is back by rounds 10-12 that would be brilliant!Leave a comment:

Not too much risk to it, because they will know by May/June whether it was successful and if it isnt then they will just do the normal ACL procedure and he should have an uninterrupted pre-season.
Supposably he is walking fine at the moment and will be running within the next few weeks.
sounds pretty farcical, but its worth the risk to see Tiger, Melcho & Mattner in the team together.Leave a comment:
