Here's the news on what they've done differently. Doesn't mention what the side effects / risks are - ie whether there's any greater chance of reinjuring it. But sounds optimistic.

And Malceski's op seems to have been effective, they might as well put young Thorton through the same treatment.

Can you say whether that news is good or bad?

Perhaps some radical new treatment for knee injuries developed in France and he could be back mid season...I would love to see that!!
