We could have predicted exactly that squad. I don't think there is anyone else fit at the moment who has played any senior football. And with five relative newbies already in (including last week's emergency, Barlow) and the reserves not playing at all last weekend, it was inconceivable that any new debutants would force their way into contention.

We're going to need to wait until Spida, Fossie and Schmidt are fit before there's any real pressure on spots in the 25. Or alternatively, until a DOK, White or Vezspremi starts burning it up in the twos.

Apparently Ablett isn't injured according to The West Australian.

                  Wow.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Who knows? Can't be more 'injured' that Noggy, surely.

I assume it must be injury? He's still listed as an emergency, is that just a default thing for someone who was named on the extended bench?

He is named as an emergency, so apparently not.

I find it bewildering that he's been left out if its based on last week's game. He mightn't have got a whole heap of ball but what he did with it was pretty decent. Maybe he's done something off-field to upset the troops. Or maybe he's being called for not chasing a man hard enough last week.

Roos said he'd be only making changes for match-up reasons though, and given it's usually the opposition's problem to match-up on the forwards, it does seem a little odd.

He ran out of Port players to tag.

It's almost at the level of absurdity that I'd like to be able to call Roos and ask him to explain why Davis isn't playing.

So much for Snapper. According to the AFL website Davis is an emergency - thus NOT injured. Scapegoat again??

Could it be something to do with Davis being pulled by Roos in the last minute of the game last week? Taking the shot from 50 was fine when he got it, but poor team play when he missed?
