Tim Morrissey can probably spare some time inbetween his Kings bashing.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Persistently failed to chase and pressure Clarke off the Saints half back line last match. Davo should know by now if you don't run you don't get a run.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

I was watching the telecast, it can be hard to tell when a player chases or not. I don't recall either Clarke having enough of a blinder to justify their opponent being dropped.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

He is named as an emergency, so apparently not.
I find it bewildering that he's been left out if its based on last week's game. He mightn't have got a whole heap of ball but what he did with it was pretty decent. Maybe he's done something off-field to upset the troops. Or maybe he's being called for not chasing a man hard enough last week.
Roos said he'd be only making changes for match-up reasons though, and given it's usually the opposition's problem to match-up on the forwards, it does seem a little odd.
Geez Liz, you wouldn't call Bolton J and Bevan hard chasers.Comment

Bevo was switched onto Xav Clarke in the second quarter to stop the run off their half back line after Davo had completely failed to chase him down. Bevan did the job. However Davo is able to be exploited by defenders with pace of which Port have a basketful. We have a problem with Davo if he won't run up the ground. He didn't on Saturday night and pays the price.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Same here, though as Ive said here numerous times we need to kick goals and Nick does. Surely there playing duck and drakes with this one or he is injured, Davo was hardly the worst last week. Though when you bludge on your mates most of the time and dont chase like he did a couple of times last week it sticks out !!
Its the ability he has got that he doesnt deliver enough that sticks out so much. It goes against the "Ethos" the players have put in place.
The Bevo ,McVeigh, Matthews Bashers can bang on, though they follow team rules which is big in the club, and I betcha Davo is paying for not going by the book.Comment

In case you hadn't noticed Davis is a forward. I reckon you've run that X Clarke thing every day since Saturday.Comment

Plus, Davis is not quick. He does not always look like he is chasing hard but I reckon he usually is. I saw Hall chase Hall for 15m or so last week and did not see him catch anyone (or anything for that matter). I expect to see Davis in for Ablett, but if not, strewth.Comment

F'real! How anyone can say Bevan deserves a spot ahead of Davis, is simply baffling. Sure, Nick can be lazy at times, but he always has and always will offer more than a Bevan or a B1. Give it up, Connolly.Comment

Don't think I've met Bevos mum. Im just suggesting a possible reason for Davo's omission. The days when a small forward in particular can hang back and bag a lazy goal or two are over. All sides attack off their half back lines and small forwards have to apply defensive pressure to their opponents and stop the run out of defense. Some days Davo does it and some days he doesn't.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

They are two completely different types of players. The choice is between Cheese as a tall mobile forward who can play through the midfield or Davis as a small gaolsneak who can really only play on a flank. Given that Cheese is a player with enormous potential and Davo is entering the veteran category the choice isn't so puzzling. Probably Davo will be brought back if Grundy fails to improve. But a forward line with Magic, Davo and Grundy is just too slow.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

I think that change is so asinine that I have decided not to post for the next fortnight, however, I do reserve the right to reinstate myself if it is a blind selection. Cheer as much as you like, I don't give a continental.
I suspect what is going to happen is J Bolton will kick a bag this week and add to his lifetime brownie/brown nose points.
Gee he looks good in the merchandising brochure. Did you see the pic of him looking for his lunch in his school bag. How could they drop a bloke who looks so good in the Swans gear. Such wonderful pics of him must really drag in the members and they managed to throw a couple of his action shots in also. What a legend, what a player: don't worry about the knockers, you're not playing badly, you're just not getting a touch.Comment
