Now this I agree with, Grundy, once again, gave nothing. He's slow and has had virtually no impact in any game he played. How he gets a game ahead of Davis is mind boggling.

Interesting. Davis spent the first half of the first quarter on the bench. J Bolton was on Clarke. Davis came on late in the first quarter and spent a mix of time in the midfield and in the forward line.

The fact is we were exposed last year and also last week because our midfield(last year) and our forward line (last week) was too slow.
You don't need a quick forward line. You need a quick midfield and a half back line.

Davis simply has not developed the motor to play consistently in the midfield and hence is a one dimensional player.
Most of our team is one dimensional at best. Davis had 14 possessions on Saturday night. How many players had more?

Its not that Roos wants everyone to be a tagger but everyone has to be able to play up the ground. We have two specialist forwards in Magic and Big Bustling.
      So which is it?

There is no room for three - it really slows us down and reduces our tactical adaptability. The fact that Davis failed to chase down the Saints quick defenders was probably the clincher. So many people here have wanted a youth selection policy. Well here it is. Young potential champion replaces aging disappointment. Sounds OK to me.
Replacing J Bolton still makes more sense.

Beautiful morning in Sydney this morning. Should be, as they say in the classics, a great day for footy.

Anyone know what the current capacity of the SCG is? I haven't really noticed much advertising for attending the game, have they given up on that a little for the SCG games whilst the capacity is low?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

          Forward Pocket.

Let him eat KFC and don't make him chase opposition players.

          5+ goals a game guaranteed.

And that may happen as well. The fact is youth will be a tipping factor at the selection table. Unfortunately veterans that want to stay in the "talented and shows potential" category at the age of 28 might not have much to offer against talentented kids with real potential and time to realise it.

He's an exceptionally good contested mark. He's being picked up by the 3/4th best defender. A bit more weight so he's comfortable in his skin won't hurt. Bit more to "move" his opponent.

He's a square peg going into a round hole...let him be round!

Let him be different - eccentric....he'd thrive on it.

Agree Stella, perfect day for footy. High scoring, attacking, free flowing footy...wishful thinking!! Well the weather is still perfect for it though!!

I think the capacity is around 35,000ish now, but I do not think we will get over 30,000 today.

                  Reserves update...Belconnon 58, Sydney 51.
                  Swannies for life!

Good for him. Pity the poor bugger trying to stop his opponent running down the ground creating havoc. If he wanted to be the wacky sports star he should have taken up golf, tennis, darts or snooker. If what you say is his attitude he's in the wrong era, wrong sport and wrong team.

Yep, defenders hardly ever rack up easy possessions in modern football.

Cheese was way better value today than Davo.

So True, really pleasing to watch a kid really want to play for the jumper.
He was today , best game since he made his debut.

Time for a good hard look

To all those who threatened to tear up their tickets or be disgusted at the decision to drop davo, maybe some credit to the coaching staff is in order? I know that sort of suggestion makes the the "thinkers" on this site pretty uncomfortable, but those of us who get what roosy is trying to achieve find your criticism difficult to understand. My guess is that you don't really understand modern footy (which roosy reckons most journos don't).

I suggest that the Bloods culture, that some feel prepared to knock(??), continues to give us the best chance of another flag. To the knockers, maybe its time for a good hard look at why you are here.

Maybe you should decide for yourself why you are here, others can decide for themselves and don't need your input into that decision.
