I don't think he is particuarly slow?

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
Either he is slow or he was running at half pace after the Saints half back flankers. Whilst the Davis Appreciation Society is checking back to find an overhead contested pack mark where he actually jumped off the ground, when was the last time he ran someone down? He is the slowest small, smallish, undersized big (whateber he is called these days) forward in the comp. I would put him pretty close in slowness to that other over hyped showpony at Richmond but at least he has an excuse with suffering a broken leg.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Magic plays as a key position forward, usually full forward and Davis is a flanker/pocket. Davis is the slowest small forward in the competition. If there is anyone slower give me a bell. Compare them - Ebert, Davey (both), Didak, Johnstone, Williams etc, etc. Either way you shake it up Kid Terrific doesn't shape up. He's either too slow to be a modern small forward or too small to be a key position forward. O'Loughlin on the other hand is quicker and taller. And poor Mick is older and had enough knee problems to have put down a racehorse.Refresh my memory when did Kid Terrific last take an overhead mark, much less an overhead contested pack mark? As I said would go well witth the Boroughs
Are you talking about Travis Johnstone? Since when has he played a role similar to Davis?
How many overhead marks do you see Micky take?Bloods

The comparison is with other small forwards in the competiton. Didak, Johnstone etc. For a small forward he is slow. ROK is bigger and quicker, covers more territory and actually pressures defenders and runs them down. Davis doesn't, can't or has better things to do with his valuable time. Take your pick.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Oh, and Davis is quicker than Ebert (although Ebert, despite being a shawty, basically plays as a tall, ironically enough), and probably quicker than Williams, though I haven't seen him play for so long, I can't remember!
I think you underrate Davis' legspeed. He's on the slow side of small forwards, yes, but he is nowhere near the slowest. He wouldn't be able to get away with playing even short stints in the midfield if he was.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

Apologies for the spelling. Brad Johnston is about the same size as Kid Terrific. He's actually a bit shorter. He would kill Davis for pace and he's over 30. Think about the two players and how they play and I rest my case.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Correction: O'Loughlin is NAMED as a key position forward. Our only true KPF is Hall. O'Loughlin is a goal sneak, through and through. And he's also slower than Davis, I reckon, now that his knees are shot.

Just because he isn't as good as him doesn't mean he can't slot somewhere into our best 22.Bloods

My point was that Davis is the slowest small forward in the comp. Weve had one suggestion of Ebert which I can't accept. But which small forward is slower? Don't get me wrong as a Port supporter I would love to see him playing in the red and blue stripes. He type of game is really most suitable to the VFL. In the AFL the game style and pace has passed him by. Still we will always have the memories of 05.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

Slower or about equal: Ebert, Welsh, Fisher, McVeigh (Mark when he plays forward), S.Johnson, N.Brown off the top.
I don't think Davis is slow.Bloods
