You accuse others of not keeping things in context, yet you believe the punishment suggested by the Media and RWO users is equal to that of a mass murderer.

Try reading the post again. It's about perspective, hall hit someone, it was wrong, but he didn't kill/maim/badly injure anyone. the way the media and some on here went on about it you would think it had.

BTW if you saw any tv during the week after the hit, you will realise that i was doing nothing more than voicing what a number of former players were saying. None of it has anything to do with exaggeration, but putting the hit into context with what really happened and the over-reaction to it. It would be good if you could do that too.

You might try Peter Fitzsimons' take on it in last Saturday's SMH.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

why what did it say ?(and considering Fitzy was less than an angel when he was playing rugby I would be keen to hear his take on things)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I can't do the link thing but you'll find it in the SMH if you look up his column, in the archive,
I laughed at his excuse (some time ago) when he was penalised for a late tackle : he told the ref, "I got there as soon as I could."

              What about that punch!?!?

Disgraceful. An abomination on the game.

Yes, yes, yes, but did you ever see one like it? So effortless, so precise, so smooth and yet so devastating. The timing was positively Bradmanesque.

Appalling. What was he thinking? And what was with the whole arms raised, innocent, 'What unconscious body, officer?' thing? What was that all about?

Of course, of course. But, dinkum, did you ever see a sweeter hit, a more perfectly executed left cross?

He could have killed him! A bare fist, from an experienced boxer, on the unprotected chin of a slighter man? It could have maimed him for life!

Yes, yes, yes. Quite, quite, quite. Totally inexcusable. Still, what about that PUNCH!?!

Do you think Tahli knows that she's a friend with "benefits"?

                    Yeah right - big benefits.

                          I didn't say all.

Still, those injuries don't explain dropped marks or the ability to kick 10 goals against two crap sides.

                            Sure, it's tabloid trash but

                            a) it's impeccably sourced (from "a friend" of his ex, no less)
                            b) it fits the known facts (ie, Baz punched someone)
                            c) it's much more comforting than "BBBH is a weak mongrel".

I declare the "Case of the Bazza brainsnap" solved.

If you're struggling with your body, have lost a yard of pace and are struggling to get to contests as you once could (and have dodgy eyesight) dropped marks are understandable. Particularly from a player whose been prone to drop some straightforward marks, especially at night, even when he's been in pretty good form.
