      I hate Footballer's mothers.

18 week suspension is a bit rough. They're even say that on bigfooty.

Pull your head in Mrs. Staker.

They probably think that their club is clean and never had trouble to begin with.

I think that was a sign of the times. IIRC Matthews couldn't be reported on video evidence in those days, so he was deregistered and charged with assault. I don't know how that would stack up these days.

How far short is Hall's action of Matthews's?

              Which one of Matthews actions?

I assume you mean Neville Bruns. It was completely different. Matthews was running past and hit him from behind with a round arm. IIRC as a result, Bruns was out of the game for a few weeks with a broken jaw.

Barry did a very bad thing and he should suffer the consequences of his actions. This includes having stakers parents baying for his blood.

I like barry but for doing such a selfish thing he should be made to squirm

Not completely different. Both were unexpected punches to the face.

he is and he has said he will cop the criticism as well.

the one punch rule is a common law thing here, not meaning on the field.

Being a parent myself I can sympathize with these remarks....

Hall will find himself on the end of a 10 game ban, and he will take it.

While you're probably right, that was be extremely harsh and quite frankly a joke.

Lucky I'm not his mum (being a boy and all...OK not going there!) But if I was, I would be thankful that it wasn't a right hand punch and not a left handed love tap.

Being slightly concussed and being alive is probally not a bad outcome from this incident!

Not in favour of BBBH actions!

Let the punishment fit the crime! Head high contact and closed fist. 6-8 weeks less 2 weeks for early appology!

                          PS

I wonder if Willie Mason has seen this and still wants to box Barry?

I would only like to see him get a 6-8 week ban, but the AFL really want to stamp this out of the game, so a harsh penalty must reflect this.

They want to stamp elbows to the head out of the game, too, but I can't remember the last time someone got 10 weeks for that.

Same thing applies to the front on contact to the head. 6 weeks is about the max for that and it can do a lot more damage.
